I wonder if this is the reason we can’t select seats on our AKL-PPT flight next year. Flights are part of package booked with Cruiseaway. Once I added QFF number to booking I could at least select seats on QF and FJ, but no dice with TN. Can’t request upgrades on QF or FJ but that doesn’t bother us.

As you’re not able to call to ask for the release of seats like I was able to you don’t have any option but to keep looking for seats. It’s not a fun thing to do. The other option is to book an exit row in Y. At least you’d have lots of space.
