Not the same. QF PE is miles above CX PE. I've done SFO-HKG-SYD-HKG-LAX in PE on CX and SYD-SCL-SYD, SYD-LAX-SYD, SYD-(BKK)-LHR-(SIN)-SYD in QF PE on combinations of 744, 388, 777, 333 and I would certainly take the QF product over CX any day.
Yeah, that's my standard too. Got hassled at YVR a few months back, young girl all high and mighty. Just pointed her to my visa and showed my id for my QC company and all was good.
I find that going the business trip usually works better than the resident option. Go Figure. Confused.
In your particular situation carrying cash is your best choice IMHO. Regular OS travellers have all sorts of ways to carry foreign currency but this is primarily designed for frequent travellers.
I would recommend to carry the cash with you or if that is uncomfortable, withdraw once when you...
What constitutes a bad airport is debatable depending on the region you fly into. Here are my top 5 bad regions/airports and the reason why, in no particular order, just bad full stop:
1. Any Mexican Airport. There is a dispute with the baggage union that is never ending. You can collect...
Just read that United have gone back to the "Fly the Friendly Skies" campaign with Gershwin's "Rapsody In Blue"
United Introduces a Familiar, Reliable, but Risky Ad Campaign - >> The Cranky Flier
Reminded me of my very first flight with TAA and the very catchy "Up Up and Away with TAA" add...
In NYC, ditch the cab idea and use the Subway. It will generally get you where you want to go a whole lot quicker (traffic is the pits!). The $$ you save you can blow on great dinners, wine and shopping!
We booked LIM-CUZ return on LAN last year on the US Expedia site, tix were around US$150 each way.
One thing about CUZ, it gets very foggy and flights are often delayed...
Has happened to me too, all on BA metal at that. Flying CDG-LHR-YUL on two PNR's The check in agent at CDG would not check us in or the bags through to YUL. We had to clear customs at LHR, collect our bags and check in at LHR for the flight to YUL.
At the premium desk at LHR I told the agent...
Re: QF108 diverts from LAX to SYD via BNE
I'm wondering this too. What is Melbournian1's agenda here.
From what i've read here all I see is either:
1) Troll
2) Journalist
Both are bottom scrapers that no longer warrant any response to further posts.
Go with CX. If it doesn't make too much of a difference to you, try doing HKG-SFO instead of LAX. You'll get a 747 instead of the 777 and a much nicer experience when you arrive at SFO compared to LAX.
Yes it does take longer but if schedule is not an issue for you then the CX experience in...
I did alot of transfers through SCL in 2012.
Neruda is the smaller one with uncomfortable chairs, basic food and beverages. If you smoke, Neruda has a smoking lounge at the back (other options are the Priority Pass lounge or the Cafe across from the QF gate - just buy a coffee inside and...
Oh wow, didn't realise how much the APRA thing is a little sore point here. Sorry peeps.
For those still listening, here is my take on this one.
First off, I am not a Performing Rights lawyer and will never be qualified as one. I just have to deal with this stuff on a regular basis, that's...
I think it does fall into a similar category, maybe not the same category though. What we aim to achieve in Pre show is to set a theme, tone or feeling for the show that is about to be seen. It's at a low level just a bit above background music. The house lights are on, 850 people are talking...
I work in live theatre/drama and we pay APRA all the time for royalties. there are two fee levels that are relevant for us.
Anything played in the theatre while the house lights are up ie Pre show, intermission and post show is covered by a yearly fee similar to that being discussed.
When we...
Saw a well dressed couple with two cats, in separate carry cages at immigration at Santiago recently.
