I like the earlier departure, this is perfect for kids and to get the weekend started. But the trip home is the reason (outside of cost) that I never book QF on this route. Too late for the kids. 2-3 hours earlier would be the dream.

Cruises can be pretty high commission, at the low end 10% and 15-20% at times. Hotels tend to be 10 though 8 is possible. Airfares can be often 0% for international origin and 1%. Plus they are way more hassle in the first place, and liable to change regularly and last minute with no recourse...

So here’s one that may be interesting for some- My office uses 3CX. I always buy a data only eSIM for roaming, and have my normal number receiving free 2FA sms etc. If I need to make a call anywhere I use my 3CX app and call via the office with data/voip.
