Agree - I read that as you have to take it to a local USPS post office - I assume this is in US only - I was thinking how to do it so you don't need to show US ID - and do it from Aus - maybe there is a way you can do it like this

Not at all - docupost is legitimate service - The banks know you are sending AU passport - so no biggie in my opinion

Agree - I have done my details via DocuPost multiple times - so far I trust them more than Qantas/Optus/Medibank etc etc

sounds painful - there is the current deal of v with 300 TC - I am 2 years now and looking at getting a card but would prefer to get the preapproval to hope I can slightly improve my odds of getting ID checks working - seems people wtih checking may have a better experience but maybe not thanks...

i dont have that option on mine - try one and then the other - can do the test. - once in never have to do again - you may be signed in or have a newer option

how long is your credit history and what other cards - if its short will need more time - if good history with multiple cards call again

Do you mean 6K in checking/savings or another chase CC - if CC I would HUCA - no harm in trying again
