    Ask The Pilot

JB, I am not sure if you have seen this footage, but in these sort of situations, is there memory items etc? If it gets worse can you take a heading change? Starts around 6.40 mins into the video

Qantas boosts international capacity, wet lease Finnair aircraft

That would be around 4 aircraft left at Finnair. Certianly seems like a good opportunity for AY to move on from the A330 fleet. I’d imagine QF will continue to dry lease these for as long as they can. They are good mid life aircraft.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I recall this route was going A220, I remember reading the schedule update. Obviously got canned.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

They don’t seem to be getting overly favourable press with this one. Social feed has been littered with the toilet issue, worst plane in the world etc. Vanessa Hudson wasn’t overly happy with the toilet question being asked in one interview lol. This is far from a game changing aircraft that...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Staggering that they continue to have blunders in the configuration department. I mean, seriously, what a joke.

Looks like VA9002 will take the team back tomorrow at 1330 Virgin’s AFL contract ends this year so will be interesting to see if they re negotiate or if goes to QF who also has sports contracts ending this year.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

I really don’t get all the fuss. It’s no Delta or JetBlue A321. It’s built and designed with management bonuses in mind.

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

Wed to Fri offer popped up. $130 spend and get 5200 points. As above, WOW is losing thousands of my yearly spend to Coles now. A couple of years back WOW once dominated the points area.

Virgin change/cancellation fee increase to $109

Needs to be some form of regulation on these fees. Retailers can’t get away with such fees, banks have been put under the microscope recently. Politicians have been weak with airlines for as long as I have been alive.

Virgin Australia to Reconfigure 737 Fleet - Spend $110M

VH-VUJ has apparently now ceased ops and will be flown out later this week to the US. Not sure when the A320s finish up.

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

Double points seem to be the new norm. I got x15 points on ladies and kids clothing at BIGW. Now I thought the algorithm would have figured out I’m a male and perhaps given me a men’s clothing offer. 🤣

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Is Hawaii with the XLR an option here? Or do the economics of a widebody start to play out for these longer missions?

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Looks like Network won’t get getting Jetstar Asia aircraft and they are retiring JQs oldest owned aircraft to Network whilst JQ taking the whole 3K fleet. Lines up with Network getting the aged equipment historically. VQF and VQM still registered to Jetstar but now painted in QLink colours.
