    How does Hertz treat you

A quick google indicates that you're right and a new prado actually starts well under $100k. My car-dar is way off. I did like it but found the cruise control difficult to use and the side mirrors oddly narrow. Minor surmountable quibbles.

    How does Hertz treat you

They have indeed, usually, and the current Amex credit is a bonus. Europcar's rates are sharp too and their no recharge and better cashback makes for a good deal either way. Pricing was bi-polar crazy last week in Perth though with Hertz and Europcar both in excess of $170/day for most vehicle...

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

hoooo boy that's some next level cynicism there @MEL_Traveller :) Been a while since any VA flight I've been on could be described as anything but full, even with my tight-cough preferencing of very early and/or late times, but still entirely possible I was played. Although, I'd prefer it if...

    Velocity Platinum Complimentary Upgrades

A surprising but good experience: I flew CBR-MEL-PER vv recently on flexi fares. Not long before departure, I checked rewards on the outward legs but none available, unsurprisingly. I don't handle rejection well and I'm a realist (see avatar) so I didn't even check rewards for the return leg...

    New Amex statement credits

Here's how mine ultimately posted on my Amex statement. There's a distinction of sorts, so my recollection wasn't entirely clear. These kinds of double dips are very welcome. I rented through Thrifty recently and the charge on my statement was from Hertz. I've already got the credit for...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Susan Ley in the CBR VA lounge recently. Appeared to be taking instruction from an assistant on how a buffet works. Wanted to ask about her own little plane but I always think these people would be over such intrusions. Michael Vaughan and Allan Lamb were in the group ahead of me at Lake...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

I did precisely the same thing not realising that the 4c is automatic (if you have one valid) when scanning rewards card which you must do to get the 1000pts. The pricing at EG in the ACT is wild. Due to the Costco, Airport is 20c/L cheaper than those nearer me in the south and 10c cheaper...

    How does Hertz treat you

Yeah that's shabby @clifford I think you'll have no issue getting charged the amount originally quoted, other than the PITA dealing with them. I tend to prepay so this nonsense hasn't happened to me. Once they moved me to a vehicle that had limited kms which I exceeded but the cost was...

    New Amex statement credits

Highly likely the other credit will post in due course guys. And as Laithwaites and Australian not as wine people IIRC.

    Coles gift card offers

It could be the cards that don't activate but you're still charged for, and will be likely to receive points for, are old or from a batch not part of the system you're in (or similar geo-issue). I have posted here previously my tales of taking cards from a VIC store to an ACT store, or cards...

Citi cards become myCard - no more CX, KF, EY, QR from 16/11/25

With the lack of information on what becomes of Citi points with the transition to MyCard, there's no option now but to transfer out before the Nov 16 deadline. Is it even confirmed that MyCard will have a spend-based rewards program? edit: The consensus seems to be that any rewards program is...

    MEL taxi scam

Seems to me the pre-paid voucher system will be a complete flop if the drivers won't, for whatever reason, pick up pax from the designated area. I didn't realise that a designated pick up area was involved. I thought that the pax just queued in the taxi line and handed the pre-paid voucher to...

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

12k for 3 weeks x $90 spend (I dig the one or more shops!). Up from 7k for $70 recently. Together with some good little boosters, Woolies has roared back from exile.

    MEL taxi scam

We and anyone else coming down the escalator at T3 was propositioned on Saturday afternoon. Easy enough to ignore. But also easy enough for the powers that be to catch too so they obviously have no intention to take action beyond their announcements. Our Didi cost $51 to the Doubletree door...

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

Looking to join up to Explorer via the QBR links via the "Earn up to QFF 20k points" promo (5k + 5k + 10k for first transaction/booking with QF partners). The email says those points are "on top of the points earned below" and below says 10k QFF for your QBR account for ALL Accor+ Explorer...

    Penfolds Re-corking Clinics

No sticker for me 😢. It was well oxidised. The ullage was into the red zone by a whisker but they opened it anyway. It tasted like bad sherry with marzipan notes. It could be safely drunk I was told. They topped it up with the current vintage (2021), for some reason, and recorked it. I had...

Citi cards become myCard - no more CX, KF, EY, QR from 16/11/25

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Dunno why they'd be telling me when I log in about transfers I can't make.... 🤷‍♂️

Citi cards become myCard - no more CX, KF, EY, QR from 16/11/25

I can't see any transactions, only that the points total has increased since the last statement. Aslo, I can only see SQ, VA and flybuys as transfer partners. I was planning to transfer to QR or CX prior to 16 Nov. Lets hope this a temporary glitch.

QantasLink to fly to Christmas & Cocos (Keeling) Islands

I see on the news that the crab migration has started, with the spawning date around 15 Nov anticipated. So does that mean that there'd be crabs everywhere until then and maybe for some time after?
