It just means you won't get points/status nights (although you can get the status night if you charge something to your folio). The breakfast etc comes from being platinum, not the room booking.

Yes, IIRC, that's what I (and others on this thread) got. Yay for Qantas IT. You'll need to call to book, but they should waive the telephone booking fee.

It's more that the multi-city booking engine allows for a lot more flexibility when assembling a particular combination of flights - provided there's less than 24 hours between flights, no cabin or carrier changes and less than 15,000 miles, it'll show what can be booked on a classic reward fare...
