AirAsia X will fly to Nairobi

Seems like AirAsia wants out of the A330 fleet this decade, or reading into his comments, seems like when the leases end. I guess the Aussie routes can be done with the 321XLR. Further to the point that Long Haul/Low Cost doesn’t work, especially in regions that have low incomes. Jetstar here...

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

They need to just cancel the route completely, it’s a token route now without 3K and it’s just become a joke. It will free up an aircraft considerably, Scoot dominate the low cost traffic on that route now. Otherwise just run it A321N directly.

    Virgin are losing the plot.

They have some new weird flights in the summer schedule. What is with this Melbourne to Cairns red eye flight. Not bad for say Cairns locals who want the day in Melbourne.

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

It appears SYD-ICN has also been cancelled for the last four days. Nasty. It looks like the two grounded aircraft from last week are now back this week, but they now have another one stuck in ICN from earlier this week. Seems to be one after the other. Get them operational again then another...

    A330 Reliability Issues

Perhaps it’s just Saturday downtime but it’s definitely a fleet with ongoing issues by the looks. They certainly would be in a spot of bother if they never had access to these AY 330s. One appears to be stuck in Darwin for unknown reasons.

    A330 Reliability Issues

Seems to be at least half dozen A330s at the BNE engineering facility.

    Everyday Rewards Targeted Offers

With recent results showing Coles belting Woolworths, and WOW talking about how it intends to fight for the festive season spend, we might see some more attractive offers this and next month.

QF105 MEL HNL March 2026 cancelled

It would appear it is being paused from Jan 31 to March 31. I would assume it is due to aircraft availability issues, and obviously this route is low season during this time, low yield, first to get the chop.

Virgin Australia Boeing 737 Max 8

I assume they perform better in the warmer conditions vs a -800?

    Qantas A380 New Route Speculation

I agree SIN and BKK are two very popular routes at the moment, loads are strong for QF and it would be good to see them increase BKK, even start a new direct from another city.

Jetstar launches Various Routes for CNS/CHC/MCY/AKL/DUD/HZL/SYD/OOL

Looks like CNS-DPS has switched back to the A320. Interesting they upped it to the 321 when AirAsia launched, now dropped back since they left. Clearly the intention was to push them out.

Jetstar Asia launches Colombo to Singapore flights

UL has pretty solid loads on its Australian flights and it appears significant cargo is shifted between the two countries. Fares are not often that cheap either, peak is really pricey even for peak standards. Not sure what the long term game is with UL either. Seems to be a rolling bailout and...

    Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

This weeks offer. Perhaps no more 10k monthly offers as I’ve just cycled four months of them. Coles still being more generous vs WOW at the moment

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

VKG diverted to SIN earlier this week and is still there. VKI has been grounded in NRT since earlier this week VKJ has been in HKG for a few weeks for assumed engineering.

    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

It appears multiple 787s are grounded again. One stuck in SGN it seems.

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Some nasty delays around the network today due to the wind in Melbourne flowing on. Jetstar Avalon to Brisbane 2140 departure still on the ground at Avalon after arriving in late. Departure now 0100.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

Air T doesn’t have much cash on hand looking at their numbers. They would struggle to get capital from any bank also. It appears a bit of cash is needed to get this operation moving along. I assume this will be heavily propped up by the Government when they hand over the keys.

Rex in voluntary administration, ending all 737 services

They have always been amateurs in this area. Press Releases, Statements, Marketing, it’s all just done poorly.

    Koala Airlines Discussion

Getting leases is one thing. Finding a few hundred million in startup capital is another, then the next few hundred million once that is burnt.
