Emirates restricts first class awards to elite members only

I didn't think EK F was that popular because of the high taxes. Is the sudden interest only because of the scarcity factor or has there been a large but quiet group of QFFers booking EK F all this time?

    Air BnB Discussion

There seems to be Airbnb people and hotel people. Hard to convince fans of one to switch to the other. Airbnb marketing does seem to revolve more around feelings, living like a local, and all that. They seem to not want to be directly comparable to hotels. The feelings message doesn't work on...

How would customs know someone has TRS-claimed good(s) on them?

Unless they get a tip off then that would be by physical inspection. If a customs officer sees that [insert physical item here] in your baggage, how will they know that someone else had claimed a GST refund on that item? The answer is they won't.

    Osaka World Expo

Here are my thoughts after completing a 3 day visit. - a 1 day visit will let you visit 5+ pavilions, walk around and see the buildings, walk on the ring, watch the evening show and leave satisfied - a 2nd day visit will let you see another 10+ pavilions and explore the areas you weren't able...

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

I used trip.com for a return flight. They were the cheapest and even cheaper than from the airline direct. Everything went smoothly. No problems. I also booked a hotel in Canberra with them because of a special promo. I ended up cancelling the booking and received a full refund, as expected.

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

It's interesting how the way of finding the cheapest hotel rate evolves over time. In 2025 my method is by bringing up the hotel in Google Maps. It shows the rate on all OTAs including the price on the hotel's own website. Quick and easy.

What's your tip(s) for surviving the cesspool of Hotel booking websites?

This reminded me of Agoda's "book now pay later" scam. They charge a 5% fee for doing this which I only found out after my credit card was charged. I went back to check their T&Cs and found it hidden in their fine print.

    Osaka World Expo

Share your experiences and tips here. Mine are: - Stay for the evening water/fire/light/sound show. - Stay for the drone show. - The site is huge. I broke my daily step count record. - Expect to spend most of the day queueing. All big pavilions have queues. It's hard to tell how long you will...
