Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

Seefeld definitely a wonderful option I think. It's quite unlike the major resorts like St Anton etc, where skiing is a big focus. At Seefeld it's a relatively minor attraction. Majority of visitors are not there to ski, but rather to partake in the other non-skl related activities..

Duty Free? Sydney - Singapore - coughet

Yep understandable in the heat of the moment before the situation was clear. I thought you were generalising your example as a response to the OP's question.

Duty Free? Sydney - Singapore - coughet

I guess it's about making a risk judgement. The incident in Laos was from alcohol served over the bar, from an open bottle. The grog in question was a local Laos made "whisky". Pretty much a worst case scenario. So there's 3 risk factors there: Drink prepared over the bar From open bottle A...

Duty Free? Sydney - Singapore - coughet

Might be cheaper just to buy it at a convenience store in Thailand, instead of lugging it all the way from Sydney?

Change classic rewards flight to day without availability

You have a greater chance of getting award tickets to the International Space Station than 6 seats from Japan to AU in late January!

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

So, closing this one out, some observations: Lapland in winter is absolutely beatiful. Yes it can get cold, but "good cold" - dry and clear. There is something serenely special about the high arctic, especially the light. Trains in mainland Europe between xmas and NY are incredibly busy...

Lapland for the Polar Night, + Austria and France

We depart the Singapore PanPac - nice hotel, would stay again. Head for the airport and visit the Jewel, then head for the Qantas lounge. When we arrive, it's quite empty. However when QF2 from London lands, it fills quickly and it looks like people are being turned away.

Change classic rewards flight to day without availability

6 award tickets from Japan to Australia in late January is nigh on impossible. Yep as per reasons above, ski season and everyone with school age kids wants to travel in that window.

Change classic rewards flight to day without availability

It's the combo of AU School holidays and JP ski season. Japan flights are in peak demand in Dec and (especially) January. And flights back to AU in late January are the peak of the peak, as the school holidays come to an end. Has been that way for many years now. How many seats are you chasing?

    QFF security issues?

It does sound like someone, or something is attempting to access your account, and the 2-factor authentication is doing what it is supposed to. What's your expectation of Qantas incidentally? Lock the account? Close the account and give you a new FF#? As per the earlier poster, it could be...

Australian man uses Auckland Airport as start and finish point for a world record attempt

Rottnest Island in WA is the antipode of Bermuda. Probably not a useful combo for a record attempt though!

A dry holiday to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Saudis are spending a bomb on trying to get a tourism market going. Will it work? This video review of a new Saudi resort popped up on my youtube feed a few weeks back. I took the time to watch the whole thing. The resort itself is visually spectacular, particularly the architecture. It...
