But, covered by directors insurance. Then the ins premium goes up, paid for by... It would be nice if such directors refund/forgo their fees. Or resign.

    Superannuation Discussion + market volatility

Dreadful email to members, quite disingenuous. Nothing in the title indicating the main affect, suspension of access, and that info not stated until after paragraphs of guff. Many members would have given up before they got to the end of the guff.

I recall someone here had issues closing an account then no longer being able to claim a deductable contribution already made. Caution if eg moving from HESTA to keep it open, $1?

Will full recline beds ever be feasible for economy class?

I can visualise how it could work without using any extra space at least in PE ..in pairs, the front seat pivots up as it extends flat while the seat behind pivots down as it extends flat. Like train bunks needs mutual cooperation of bedtime.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Yes from memory, population wiped out from disease spread from telephone handles. Covid prediction?

    What's your Uber experience?

Cancelled mine a few weeks ago. Tip, if cancelling do so well before rollover date to avoid extra month charge.

Public Transport to our airports - what's cheapest?

In your link "...the cost was now expected to reach $433.75 million." Getting close to $½billion (final costs to gov are inevitably higher), just to make it easier to spend 50c.

I think we can expect much much more heavy rain tonight. But yes, a relief no cyclonic wind.

Have you topped up a UK pension to cover gaps?

So...call, take a screenshot (?) and then the cut-off date doesn't apply? Pity no ph number.

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

Thanks for the heads-up, prompted me to book. I'm in bne atm, syd-chc Friday next week, don't know how long should stay in bne so booked a JQ bne-syd for Tuesday. $73 cheap "just in case" flight.

Well the map above, available here so you can see the meaning of the lines, shows that the possible centre at this time could pass anywhere from just north of the Gold Coast to north of Double Id. Point. http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDQ65002.shtml

The holding pattern it did last night I don't think was predicted and only moving at 10kph (bom meteorologist on abc radio just now) so, yes, I think more likely that more changes to come.

Cancelled flights & waivers due to Cyclone Alfred

Synoptic chart from BoM showing the H in the Tasman Sea blocking Alfred from continuing south. Also there's a L trough passing through nsw. If Alfred slows down enough or stops for a few days, it could then recommence its relatively harmless south trajectory (and dissipate over the cooler sea)...

I'm almost all prepared, got into bne @1:00pm . Shopping done (Woolworths@ dfo), gutters cleaned, outdoor furniture away, blinds up and tied, drain channels cleaned, wheelie bins away. Having a beer... only to find there's only one left ! Edit...none now.

Jetstar slightly better than Virgin. I booked my $73 JQ ticket to bne this morning (for Wednesday pm) and have been given flexibility; wouldn't if I'd booked Virgin (edit..or booked QFA). Contrary to most, if cyclone moves away I'll cancel.
