Many airlines have a 'once in a lifetime' policy with status matches. It's an oldskool airline management thing. New school thinking hasn't reached Australia yet. Give it a few years.

I have no problem with EK fobbing off QF members. Wifi for economy class is based on your loyalty to EK Skywards. Frankly, I can't wait for the day that EK stops allowing QF Plats to enter the DXB F lounge. QF Plat is nowhere near as easy to achieve as EK Plat. They are not like-for-like.

If you leave your bag unattended in a lounge, you invite trouble -- *ESPECIALLY* in a western country. The same goes for unlocked bags in overhead lockers. Theft happens far more than you can imagine -- even in first class lounges.

A reasonable guide for anyone looking to snag the best biz seat. The big downside of the EY biz class, however, is no headrest wings.

If I were Miles & More.... I would give all ITA status holders who matched = Frequent Traveler. Any ITA matches where the member has taken at least X flights using their status on ITA = Senator.

I think you'll be fortunate if ITA matches translate into Frequent Traveller status (Star Silver). I suspect that half of China has ITA status at this stage.

Check how many airlines are honouring ITA status. ;-) Not very "Skyteam" if you ask me.

A couple of observations as someone who travels in biz with the wife/kids. - If you were never going to buy a biz/first class ticket for cash then there is no saving to be had. You were going to fly economy and are now paying more for biz.... therefore you're still spending more = not a saving...
