Nope, only Qantas in the last few years. Are the people that fly on those airlines not total morons incapable of handling their baggage efficiently or something? Rude, or accurate?

The difficulty is that a large percentage of passengers are braindead idiots who are incapable or uninterested in following basic rules. It should honestly be 1 item only, I'd even support removing all carry-on that won't fit under your seat.

Forget about long haul Y, who's going to actively decide to fly Qantas Int. J when not incentivized to do so? They aren't even the 3rd best option flying in and out of Australia and are generally the most expensive.

Not sure how similar BA and QF are honestly, outside of being "National Carriers". Markets, geography and destinations are all vastly different. I think people forget how unique Qantas' circumstances are sometimes.

I think I have made this point before but something to consider would be the impact on the international business as a byproduct of changes to domestic passenger behaviours. Qantas has a relatively weak product in the international space and I imagine QFF loyalty helps them significantly here...

It would not be difficult to solve this issue directly through the ticketing system either.

The airlines have a great deal of information about passengers, it would be easy to penalize the repeat offenders. Pretty easy to provide a medical certificate / stat declaration in the event of genuine medical issues.

You can always audit a handful of people each year at random, however, if you're that worried about whether people are going to take the piss with company money there are probably bigger issues anyway. My point is that you want people to comply with the intent of a travel policy and thus avoid...

Part of the problem, is letting other people organise travel for you. The best way is to book your own travel and just charge it to a company card.

Give people as much personal choice as possible, the focus should be on "Not taking the piss" if you get intent behind the policy right everything else will sort itself out.

There are certainly two sides, it's pretty wild when you're buying a heap of BNE to SYD, MEL, ADL & PER in Y every year (for work) and barely cracking Silver.

This is actually spot on, I would probably never fly Qantas Internationally again if they removed the loyalty incentives.
