Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Noting, if this is an economy booking, you need to add the service fee (8,000pts) per call. If booking economy, you should try and do it in a single booking if possible.

Just to clarify, the flights "link together" because you should be making them using the same booking reference number. You can't book individual flight segments with different reference numbers and link them afterwards.

ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

I would treat that with some skepticism... the airport isn't even built yet.

Default on my credit file: how to remove

Did you sign a contract with the previous firm? Have they "just" listed the default with credit listing companies or obtained a default judgement from the local court/state tribunal? Complaints about incorrect credit default listings can be made to OAIC...

Well actually, before I booked ORD-HKG, I actually booked into ORD-HKG-SIN (with HKG as a transit) on CX without drama. I ended up ringing QF the next day and changed to ORD-HKG as going through to SIN took up too many miles (there was J availability on ORD-HKG-SIN and just ORD-HKG) Not sure...

I previously had booked: CBR-BNE-LAX (stop) on QF LAX-SYD-CBR (stop) on QF After changing, I'm now doing: CBR-BNE-LAX (stop) on QF ORD-HKG (stop) on CX After Hong Kong, I intend to book a separate economy ticket home and then after a few months return to Hong Kong and do something like...

It sounds like an issue caused by the flights being 'married'... can't just swap one.

I just changed a QF segment (LAX-SYD) from an existing booking to a Cathay segment (ORD-HKG) without any dramas.

Probably part of the issue is that Cathay don't fly to Houston... so the search engine is looking for possibilities from there (depending on how far out it is, AA may not be bookable yet). If you're looking for Cathay flights, you may need to search from one of their departure cities through...

It's getting to the point that it's only safe to add QR as your last leg.

A common misconception. This is not a RTW award, rather a one world award which allows 35000miles of travel. Travel where you wish. You can only stop in a city once, you can also transit it though (twice if I recall correctly) They way you are getting to IAH is going to be the most...

I recommend flying to a destination you wish to visit on an airline you think you'll enjoy flying! Off the above suggestion, you could do AUS-HKG (cathay), HKG-EU (cathay), EU-USA (Iberia) and USA-AUS (AA) or (via HKG, Cathay), (via Tokyo, JAL)... the process will be a lot easier if you post an...

Fair enough fair enough. I'd probably would have routed through Madrid on Iberia and taken a Y domestic AA flight... but that's just probably showing my prejuidice for BA's J product and my desire to avoid their fees (if their product was world class, then it be a different story... just can't...

I assume with those fees this was flying BA? In relation to the change in fees, all taxes and fees are recalculated... so they are impacted by currency movements, tax increases etc etc. I've had it go down once, but generally goes the other way. Seeing the taxes for each one way sector is a...

Your statement is exactly spot. Who you fly, what class you fly and where you depart will impact on your tax/fees. There is no way to pay nothing. Flying Cathay, AA, IB will minimize tax...not departing the UK after a stop-over (transits -less than 24hrs aren't slugged the higher charge) will...

Just noted that the BA flights are short haul, so there would still be charges but not as high. Given this, I'd guess that the 2 QF flights could be around 40-50% of your fees. I remember when I added a SIN-SYD leg to my ticket, it cost a couple hundred dollars. If youre doing a LHR stopover...

I'm confused...did you use BAEC or QF points last time?

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Yep, your fees would be higher because of your airline choices. BA is in your itinerary and charge really high fees... QF is also pretty pricey. QR charge less than those two. I haven't booked LA or AY with awards yet. AA is cheap.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Nope. You can certainly book a leg of AA domestic F in your award, but you'll be charged 420,000pts which is hardly worth it (will be pretty dumb frankly) If an AA passenger was booking a J seat in Australia... they would get a J seat. I don't see the comparison. By all means, AA F/J...

The 140/280/420 Oneworld award discussed here, is an option available via the QFF program. My understanding is not every program necessarily offers these awards (ie I don't think AA do). So, you would need to explore options via BAEC.
