I'm a similar type of flyer, but I don't think we're the kind of people that Qantas is really interested in. However, I did work really hard over quite a few years to achieve 2.5 million paid miles with United, to get lifetime Platinum. Pity I don't make a great deal of use of it nowadays.

I'd keep my fee free credit cards (if they stay fee free) and ditch any others, such as Amex. Let's wait and see what really happens with these proposals.

I think you'll find that you can't change the FF Number if making an Avios award booking (as I was). It just defaults to your BAC Number. Paid bookings you can change no problem. Anyway, I don't mind calling the UK call centre in Newcastle and speaking to one of the nice helpful ladies there.
