No meal on Jetstar Starclass domestic flight?

I flew on JQ27 on Monday from Melbourne to Sydney, paid for Starclass as needed some extra status credits, so the flight cost around $485 with the plus package. As the flight departed at 12.20pm I was expecting to get lunch or some type of meal but the only service was a flight attendant...

Seat 1K-Emirates with a QF flight number QF8762 MEL-AKL good choice of seat?

I would also suggest selecting row 2 or 3 in preference to row 1. You should also consider trying out the shower, its quite lovely, including the heated floor. I think I was the only passenger to use the shower when i took this flight earlier this year. The "shower attendant" was a little...

    Bloody Mary

Love the Mr & Mrs T bloody mary mix, the ABC stores in Hawaii sell a huge bottle of it for $7.99. Wish that Dan Murphy stocked it. I think your drink of choice must be recorded in your profile because the first thing the CSM asked me on a recent flight to HNL was whether I wanted a G & T...

Using points for first class via Emrites

You may have to ask to use the shower as its not typically offered. There are two attendants on board who look after the showers so at least it gives them something to do. You can also ask for an amenity pack, they might have some left over from the previous flight, the men's one in...

    Lounge Hitchhikers

I was approached outside the lounges last month in AKL by a young bloke asking if I was flying with Emirates. I said no as I was heading to the Qantas lounge first. Went to the Emirates Lounge shortly after and was asked by the lounge angel if I had been approached by someone downstairs. Told...

Qantas online chat - customer service live

I used live chat on Thursday to ask why I couldn't do online checkin for a flight on Friday. Found it very slow, the first agent asked for the booking reference and went to check, 20 minutes later I got switched to another agent who asked for the booking reference again and came back with an...

130 Status Point to retain Gold

I've also booked a status run for MEL-AKL this month, MEL-AKL in J was $671 and AKL-MEL in F was $897 (on the a380 with emirates), which I thought was excellent value, worked out cheaper to book it as two one way fares. The F fares were cheaper originating from AKL than MEL $900 vs $1200.

    Heads up about program changes

Here's an idea for an enhancement Qantas. If you want to increase the loyalty of your shareholders (and perhas the shareprice) why not offer frequent flyer points to Qantas shareholders? Offering 1 or 2 QFF points annually for each share owned (say with a max of 100,000 points) might encourage...

Has anyone had success with the call-up "Marginal" xASA's?

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's? Yes that's what i thought as well but couldn't find any for anywhere near that, all the classic award ones were 72,000 so would be interested in knowing whether anyone has been able to book flights for this route in...

re: Has anyone had success with the call-up method for "Marginal" xASA's? Booked a Jasa yesterday as a staus run MEL - SYD - ASP - SYD - CBR - MEL which should net me 450 status credits (with the 50% bonus promotion) for 86,000 points and $597 in taxes so happy with that. Qantas agent said she...

A QF Competition Worth Winning !!

Similar to the recent Captain's Choice trip to South America competition where you had to state in 25 words or less who you wanted to sit next to on your next Qantas flight and why. I said the Platinum Shadow and didn't win . Red Roo do you want to enlighten us on what the winning entry...

Planning a trip to England for an Octogenarian

I was able to obtain travel insurance for my 88 year old mother-in-law recently with 1cover. You will need to complete a very detailed medical questionnaire and get it signed by a doctor. However they will not cover any pre-existing conditions, even if the condition or illness occured many...
