Last months status credits for shopping at Coles?

True. But I'm talking more about the 2,000 points for a $70 spend type offer. Or the 10,000 points for 5 weeks shopping deals.

Last months status credits for shopping at Coles?

That's good to hear that someone is getting offers. My partner and I plus both our families haven't got anything since beginning of March. Hope they stick around for a long time to come :)

Last months status credits for shopping at Coles?

Yeah that's the problem. Demand is so high that flybuys is rendered irrelevant. The 1 point per dollar people earn on grocery spend is about 0.1% of the equation. It's all the promotions and offers they would run that really drives the ship.

Last months status credits for shopping at Coles?

They have stopped offering any promotions for Coles, Liquorland, First Choice etc. Used to getbe multiple offers a week, now nothing for the last 6 weeks. Also they are ending their ebay partnership as of this month. How it works is every time flybuys offers bonus points promotion for a...

Last months status credits for shopping at Coles?

Wouldn't be surprised if flybuys disappear altogether :(

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

And I'm not disagreeing. I'm just highlighting one of the obvious implications that you seem to be missing, or avoiding. Qantas and Jetstar are also offering travel banks to affected travellers, but they don't insist it is the only option, the ACCC statement notwithstanding.

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

So tell me, what happens to everyone's travel bank if vigrin goes into administration in a few months time? Is the ACCC going to guarantee the customers will not get shafted? There is no foreseeable timeline for when virgin will begin normal operations again (if at all) so how does it make...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

Agreed. The issue is that the money is not being given back. Customers are being forced to take travel banks instead of cash refunds. How do people do these credit card chargebacks? I've never done one before, never thought Virgin would be the first :(

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

I want virgin to succeed as much as anyone. If they were processing refunds for cancelled flights (like Qantas and Jetstar) then I would have kept my points with them. As it stands though, a 5k travel bank is the equivalent of a doubtful debt. So for that reason I parked my points with KF just...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

The ACC say: "However, if your travel is cancelled due to government restrictions, this impacts your rights under the consumer guarantees." The ACCC don't go on to say how it impacts. The point in the AFF article is a valid one that the travel advice from the government does not constitute a...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

Did u read the linked article? "if you booked a flight departing from Australia with an Australian airline, Australian Consumer Law continues to apply. In our view, under Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Australian Consumer Law), you should be entitled to a refund for...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/cancelled-flights-refund/ So virgin are in effect claiming FM as grounds for not refunding passengers for cancelled flights. Only airline to be doing so in this crisis. I guess that explains why they (unlike Qantas) are managing to avoid making any...

Virgin Australia launches 'coronavirus status extension' plan

https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/cancelled-flights-refund/ They are in effect claiming FM as grounds for not refunding passengers for cancelled flights. Only airline to be doing so in this crisis. I guess that explains why they are managing to avoid making any major layoffs despite...

Virgin Australia launches 'coronavirus status extension' plan

Yes everyone will have status, plenty of velocity points, and of course the very practical and overflowing "travel banks"

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

Yeah i was in similar boat. Seriously considered gift cards, but after seeing people report that it is still showing as “pending” 10 days on after redeeming for them. Doesn’t inspire me with confidence. I’m not taking a gamble like that where the “upside” is getting roughly 0.5c per point value...

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

I just transfered my points across. It may not make a difference in the end but at least I've done what I can lol. I'm gonna end up with a travel bank in excess of 5k as it seems virgin is intent on turning it's customers into creditors so thay they can continue to pay out salaries for a few...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

It seems passengers with award bookings have received refund emails about cancelled flights as late as June. I have flights that have been cancelled for April and May (all revenue fares) and still have not received a single email. I'd be curious if anyone has received an email regarding a...

Cancelling [VA fare rules & COVID-19 uncertainty]

No it's not good enough but it's what is happening. They realise full well that it is not practical to get a travel bank, what everyone wants is a refund for their cancelled flights. Who knows when it is going to make sense to start flying again. In the mean time everyone is building up huge...

    General Discussion/Q&A on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

I agree but they should have to come back on the very next flight there is a spare seat. Not at their own leisure or after the holiday is complete. And should be properly tested and quarantined when they return home. Giving them a pamphlet and telling them to "self isolate" doesn't cut it. Most...
