I think we need to make that mandatory….. if airline A can’t do it, then rebook on another that’s can.

Yea, your ticket or generated itinerary will never show any additional baggage allowance you get due to another airlines status. Quite common.

I feel your pain, but it’s not a rip off per se, it’s their T&C’s. To upgrade you need to have the correct economy fare type … QF is the same, as are many other carriers ….. not helpful but …
