QF82 sold as KL4892.. (BP says QF82) Crediting?

Reporting back. Went to the Claim Missing miles section on the AAdvantage site. It wouldn't even accept the e-ticket number. Could not get past that first step. Still. Was worth a try!

Qatar denied extra capacity into Australia

I think you are looking at the Oneworld alliance as being far more than it is... A "cartel"? :)

QF82 sold as KL4892.. (BP says QF82) Crediting?

Thanks! Yes, i've just noticed the other flights BP's have AF not KL flight numbers so that is consistent! I may as well try to credit to AA...it will be of little use to me anywhere else. The Gulf Air J flights I took on the same trip were such good value I'm not at all fussed to have...

QF82 sold as KL4892.. (BP says QF82) Crediting?

This is way outside my experience... Recently flew CAI-CDG-SIN-SYD. KLM issued e-ticket (074 prefix) CAI-CDG-SIN operated by AF, then SIN-SYD by QF. AF issued boarding pass listing the flight as QF82. Can I credit it to my AA account? OR does the 074 e-tckt throw a spanner in the works...

    QF81 - A380 on Saturdays from Jul 15

Excellent bartender I thought. (Made a really good Moscow Mule lol) AND was seemingly completely unfazed by the extension of his work day. It was a bit of a sad ending to a great trip though. I had flown in to SIN on AF (my first long haul flight with them, and in J) and THAT flight was far...

    QF81 - A380 on Saturdays from Jul 15

Business. I was cheered up immensely when we finally COULD board, by one of the J passengers in the Lounge who did a wonderfully flamboyant circuit around the lounge letting everyone know, complete with extravagant gestures...:)

    QF81 - A380 on Saturdays from Jul 15

Another one who was on that flight... (!!) I recall after takeoff a more detailed message from the Captain... IIRC the aircraft had been sitting outside all day...so heated up..and the APU was U/S due to parts unavailability, which was apparently an industry wide problem at present? Interesting...

    2023 Travel Plans

Heading off on a somewhat ridiculous routing to YWG (Winnipeg) in 12 days. Trip is built mainly around great value or cheap Biz fares, though kicking off in Y on VA/SQ CBR-MEL-SIN-MNL. MNL-BAH-CAI in J on GF. Stop CAI-MUC-YUL-YWG on MS/LH/AC. in J. A week there for a competition.. then...

    Skipping second leg domestic flight

Lufthansa only "lost" in a very narrow sense didn't they?. AFAIK pax can STILL be required to pay for the itinerary they actually FLY.

    Etihad Compensation

Thibault and others have explained it well however it may have been better had they not included the words "connections" and "connecting" Might be useful to note that at NO point did you have "connecting flights". You had two entirely separate bookings. Expensive lesson indeed. Now, a...

Could you land the plane in an emergency? No!

I know I couldn't, not in a commercial aircraft anyway! In my Skydiving days we had a bunch of jumpers who were quite scared of flying. To help them out 2 of our Drop Zone pilots ran a little "How it works" session for the whole group, on the principle that "Knowledge dispels fear" When...

Getting from Cape Town back to Australia

This! Have felt much more nervous in many other places. Usual rules apply of course . In fact the only people I know who said "Don't go THERE, you'll get robbed/killed" were older SA Expats.... go figure.

What are you reading right now?

Have always been a fan of Napoleonic Naval fiction (the classic being the Hornblower series by C.S. Forester of course) and recently managed to complete my collection of the "Ramage" series by Dudley Pope through some snappy Ebay purchases... (ended up with some duplicates but it was worth it)...

Scooter hire, major gotcha for travel insurance

I understood it was universal that an appropriate license had to be held in ones home country for renting a scooter/motorbike overseas. (It certainly is for cars right? Whats the difference? ) Or at least it is for your TI to cover you while doing so. Why is it not a "thing"? Perhaps...

What's the rarest aircraft type that you've flown on?

Have flown in a few odd ones...(Transavia PL-12 Airtruk anyone? C-160 Transall, Westland Wessex.... ) but that was for Skydiving, I didn't actually GO anywhere so I don't think they count! 😆
