Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

Also probably hoping customers maintain a reasonable balance in that account rather than other accounts, as it pays zero interest, vs some of their other accounts that pay 2.5%. Swings and roundabouts. Need to invest the time to play their game, as otherwise the bank always wins.

    Expiring KF miles

Correct, miles retain their original expiry date even after being used. So when cancelling any that would have expired by the day you cancel will automatically expire

Card payment sucharges banned in Australia from 2026

I think the problem with surcharges is ultimately they do not reflect the cost of accepting cash, which is most certainly not zero. A zero fee electronic point of sale option should always be available. It’s 2025 not 1985. Of those charging surcharges, ALDI seemed to have the fairest...

    Jetstar new route Wishlist

From memory the other Bonza route that did quite well was Albury - Sunshine Coast. At least until the Flair debacle eroded trust.

    Jetstar new route Wishlist

Can WOL even take an A320 in RPT operations? Could actually be good to see Jetstar have a smaller plane type to put on routes that don't quite support 180+ seat aircraft, although that undermines the low cost model (and could undermine the very profitable QantasLink). Not common, but some...

    QANTAS Cyber Incident

From +63 938 766 5669: This came to my Singapore mobile number but the phishing scam seems to be targeting an Australian audience (ANZ sold its retail operations here years ago). Also as far as my Australian accounts go - Qantas is I think the only one linked to my SG number. It could be a...

Melbourne International Business Lounge Dungeon Food

Not sure if the domestic QF Club lounge offers anything that much more than the international J lounge. And the latter more likely to be quieter (at least in front left of the lounge).

QF37 to QF1 transfer in SIN

Assuming there are limits to how long it would wait. When QF37 is estimated to arrive 30 mins after QF1 is due to push back, it might be pushing the limits, You'd be looking at least 1 hour delay.

    QANTAS Cyber Incident

That aside, timing could not have been better for Qantas. Something else was occupying airtime, printspace and web headlines at the time and being rehashed in depth every day for weeks (according to MediaWatch anyway, not from experience as I just turn off both physically and mentally whenever...

Melbourne International Business Lounge Dungeon Food

Probably not, I mean was very tasty but probably wouldn't spend the $36 we have as priority pass allowance. I'd probably just fill up a bit on a toastie , soup and salad in the QF lounge, which is passable.

Melbourne International Business Lounge Dungeon Food

Before taking QF to SIN earlier this year we used our Priority Passes at Urban Providore for a burger before heading to the lounge for some drinks and dessert. Best of both worlds.

Article: Live Music in the Qantas Club

if the QF clubs were peaceful quiet places then I get the concerns. But the fact is usually they are often. busy and noisy. I haven’t been to the SYD QP for 3 years but at MEL a couple of weeks ago, Fri afternoon it was crowded and really noisy. In an aggravating way, so a little music...

    Elevating a Singapore layover

Not sure if I’d agree with you on this, as presumably OP will be on 8:50pm flight and thus probably would want to be on their way back to the airport before it gets dark at around 7:15pm. During daylight probably not quite so romantic as it is once the sun is down.

    Jetstar launching Brisbane-Bangkok route

Was going to comments that with the new e-gates immigration is lot quicker than it used to be. But I can't comment on how quick security would be as I have APEC card, so along with J passengers get very fast trip through security. Not sure how long Y pax would take, but I suspect that...

    QANTAS Cyber Incident

Same. I'm considering to start migrating my key Australian bank and other accounts to different email address and/or phone number. I have less concerns with the accounts I have where I live though, in Singapore, as almost everything has 2FA via phone push notifications, most of my accounts...

BKK - SYD how screwed are we due to Jetstar dissapearing

Worth checking out both Aeroplan (Air Canada) and LifeMiles (Avianca). Plenty of info on these here in relevant forums. A BKK-SYD return using lifemiles could cost as little as about $1800-1900 AUD return.

BKK - SYD how screwed are we due to Jetstar dissapearing

If with luggage, I can even see SQ fares with $125 SGD, which is not too bad. And in the BKK-SIN direction it's extremely likely SQ will through check luggage to BA even though on separate booking. (BA won't to SQ in the other direction though). A poorly constructed award ticket could cost...

Rules concerning booking flights from one of my five authorised stopovers

Anything that you book outside the OWA is irrelevant to the OWA - whether it be train, plane, car, bus or ferry. Qantas doesn’t need to know about any of this. If you want to do side trips that are part of the OWA booking it makes it more complicated as it adds to the segment count and you...
