Personally I won’t be changing any of my business trips to the US. Don’t go there by choice for leisure anyway, so no change to that plan. Clearly though there is a significant reduction in travel/planned travel into the US though, the UK and Canadian numbers are quite astonishing.

I completely agree with you it varies wildly for all the brands both within IHG and Accor. I always look deeply into the individual hotel, can’t trust the brands alone. For example the Mercure Doncaster (MEL) is fantastic, new modern property > Voco Brisbane which is just a lipstick cosmetic...

Finally…. But it will be a faux IC for a while, as I echo what everyone else has been saying - this property is incredibly tired. Any insight as to when we can book?

We moved flights once and took the bassinet seats from someone (had Bubs with us). We subsequently then didn’t make the connection…! So those people bumped out would also have seen non baby carrying folk in their seats… This was a while ago so not guilty for your flights :)

I’ve found if you are on a tight connection you may find an Emirates ground staff member waiting for you to whisk you straight to your next gate - well has happened to me twice transiting in Dubai.

Same, it’s everywhere. I now basically carry my NC headphones everywhere to block them out.

Some corporate TAs have weird and wonderful ways/processes of cancelling and rebooking. One must be alert!

That’s good news / interesting, the new A220 seats are good. Personally would like to see them in the 737s too.

Just reporting back: - Stunning hotel, great rooms, huge, comfortable bed - Good breakfast / lunch in hotel - Amazing gym & lap pool, one of the best hotel gyms ever seen - Very quiet - Not much in local area (I was there for work so this didn’t matter to me)
