Do single men in their 30's really get the most upgrades?

Another way of seeing this, which I hope Aussie_flyer is what you were try to articulate, is like this: Natalie, our esteemed author of the now proven "beat up article" is actually a young late 20's journo who became disillusioned with the boys club of the Fleet Street newsroom and needed any...

How do you avoid the Duty Free shops at International airports?

Most of the time I try to find the fastest path through to the lounge. If I'm low on fragrance or need a specific thing (like new power adapters for the Retina Display - &*^% you Apple for changing the plug yet again) I'll stop in. Other wise, ignore and walk straight through!

Do single men in their 30's really get the most upgrades?

Actually, there are numerous bachelors and diplomas out there that can be acquired to claim one as a journalist. Some of these university degrees concentrate on quality of investigation of your topic and then honest and balanced reporting/writing of said topic (ref: Malcolm Caldwell, his...

Do single men in their 30's really get the most upgrades?

Guess what? Natalie is actually a SHE who used write allegedly "quality" articles for the newsroom of The Telegraph in London and then decided to throw that in to write even lighter weight forget after scanning through the dross travel articles that I forget within 3 seconds. I have no comment...

What do people do at the check in counter for 16min???

It can happen to the most seasoned traveller.... +1 and I were checking in to a flight from POA (Porto Alegre, Brazil) to MIA last year. The trip was booked on Expedia during the start of their transition on the US site to the new layout. +1 has a long two name hyphenated surname that printed...

disappointment with J upgrade on QF 29

I recently downgraded to the 13" Retina MBP because 15" was just too heavy to lug around all the time and the power kept tripping in flight. 13" has a 60w power supply and I find at least so much lighter and easier to travel with.

How wealthy do you need to be to buy your own J or F ticket?

I changed jobs about 4 years ago and with that came constant international travel. Before then, international J was a bit of a pipe dream as much as OS travel was. Now, with so much travel, I simply won't go below Y+ and quite often will be in the J cabin either paid outright through my work...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

At JFK two weeks ago, I forgot to adjust the time zone on my phone from BOG (+ 1 hour). Happily sitting in the lounge with +1 thinking we have an hour until boarding, we have another drink. About 30 mins later on the way back from the bathroom, I check the screens only to find out flight left...

    Using BA Lounge at Istanbul

If it is a BA operated lounge, you will have access. If it is a 3rd party lounge operated on behalf of BA, your only way of access will be on a F or J ticket or equivalent OW status with BA. 3rd party BA lounges do not allow access for OW status pax. I tried the other day at YUL, where the BA...
