The SC rollover doesn’t help with lifetime SCs. They are yours that you’ve previously earned, and are deducted from the number accruing as Lifetime SCs the previous year. In the first year of status support, there was a grant of extra SCs, which did help the lifetime quest, but not so the last...

With a single itinerary on a single PNR, I would have thought when you check in at MEL your bags will be tagged through to LHR.

Well, here’s a further update and it’s not so good (but it ends up ok). Transfer desk coded my bags onto the QR flights to Doha & Milan. Although this happened the bags didn’t move. Fortunately I had an apple airtag on one of them and I could watch their (lack of) movement during the day...

As the use of TPs with DSCs progressed, the T&C evolved. My first couple earned DSCs if I used the TP for at least half of the cost of a booking, or exhausted the remaining balance. My last few required me to use the TP to pay the full cost of a booking, or to use the remaining balance.

I got both P and then P1 last year for the first time. P was like yours - a single bag tag - but P1 was two. But P1 is a coughpy pale indifferent colour. The Platinum bag tag is the best looking, especially with the 100 years.

If you work at the margins it’s probably dubious value. But once you start looking at premium cabins for long haul flights it gets to be a pretty reasonable proposition (IMO).
