Melbourne to Sydney by overnight XPT train

Agree. As an a side, the vline option is half an hour quicker than the NSW Trainlink bus to Yass XPT offering and usually less than half the price. Having done both recently, I prefer the vline, as long as nobody sits next me on the bus (a not always avoidable pet hate).

Qatar Booking - Unable to View on Other Airline Websites

MH and QR are both hosted by Amadeus so should be the one reloc.

Can the Montréal Convention Apply to IRROPS?

Good advice, need to remember that is guidance not a standard, meaning it is not enforceable if push comes to shove. Standards aren't either if an exception has been registered.

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

I believe its an updated version of Australian Traveller Declaration, which came in during COVID. This was replaced by the now defunct DPD. Outwardly not a lot of difference between those two, but it was the backend processes across multiple agencies that tried do a great deal more but we know...

Interesting ways to go from Frankfurt to Casablanca

For me, arrival and departure at Casablanca airport last year was no worse than comparable countries. Departure was much easier than say Cairo. I imagine the risk is greater there though. Other than the grand mosque which is impressive, Casablanca is not that great. Rest of the country I...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

    1. Yes 3. For me, once booking completed, yes. Did have doubts many times as I had to add flights 3 or 4 times requiring around 20 phone calls, hoping to get an agent who at least knew flights could be added and then the "these seats are for new bookings only" line (which may or may not be the...

    Fiji airlines changing planes

Given that you're flying the same month as which the route starts, probably longer than what you would like for your desired equipment change. The A330 may not have the legs to get to DFW as well. I don't know. No one here can say with any certainty though, so you never know.

    Fiji airlines changing planes

Ultimately its a bit of a guess, I don't think it likely. The route commences in December and was announced not long ago, so not that long for sales. Generally speaking airlines give a new route some time to 'settle in' before making schedule/ equipment changes. It could also be quite full on...

Finding discount paid J fares AU-EU

If positioning on Jetstar from MEL-SIN to catch a flight on a seperate booking to Europe, is 24 hours considered long enough between flights to allow for potential delays on JQ?

    Five-digit flight numbers?

Not a new problem, been discussed at IATA level for 5 years or so.The standard for a number is set in the IATA document - Standard Schedules Information Manual and is up to 4 numerics (letters that occur after the number are called 'an operational suffix related to flight number'. This won't...

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

Spot on, ABF made it happen once the money and direction from government was there. Not much of a choice, they do set minimum requirments on layout, infrastructure they need etc.

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

Fair enough, was unaware of that purchase. I think entrusted is a bit strong of an adjective. I reckon contracted is more appropriate. But I'm a bit of cynic with these sort of things having spent years in system and vendor management space with the public service.

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

They certainly are not, Amadeus send PNR data on behalf of their client airlines, but have no role or input on ABF/ HA systems or processes. SITA are contracted to run the APP system, which starting from scratch now probably wouldn't be the case as their infrastructure was the quickest way to...

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

That was not ABF doing something special for QF. It was QF and WA interests putting up money, lobbying the political side of Government, who in turn instructed the admin side (ABF) to make it happen. Nothing inherently wrong with that, but it wasn't ABF saying lets help QF get a commercial...

Is the Australian Landing Card Still Necessary in the Written Form?

What information will be on a non govt app? A QR code which if deciphered or followedwill have secondary processing codes (out the door, go the Quarantine etc) and some bio information which the airline already has. I'd have more concern( even then not a great amount) of the contractors used to...

    Ask The Pilot

Air traffic controllers sacked for bullying and sexual harassment It wouldn't surprise if some people behaving in ways outlined on this report were made redundant instead of dismissed or disciplined. It's easier to do in some cases although more $$ up front.

    Question about Domestic/intl flight

Try the call centre? QF website doesn't support mixed class itineraries for QF to QF connections, so unlikely to support QF-JQ (for revenue fares). Help and Support | Qantas
