What is up with Etihad's Australian operations?

I had a better sleep on the 777 in J overnight MEL to AUH than on previous EY J flights in the 380 or 359 - but overall a tired cabin.

Issues with using Velocity for J tickets originating US to Australia

There are known experiences and issues with United J availability as outlined in many threads including this one: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/velocity-trans-atlantic-availability-on-united-cant-book-direct-flights.115399/

Overcharged Velocity Points CPH to MEL?

And unfortunately that's why it's the higher points cost.

Overcharged Velocity Points CPH to MEL?

You might have them on the one ticket, but they won't have been married segments so would have still been processed separately - hence the higher number of points needed.

    Lounge Access Help Desk

I don't mind the Singapore KF Gold lounge tbh. It's been fine when I have visited. Much better than the equivalent QR lounge in Doha. Now *that* is a transit lounge zoo!

Velocity trans-Atlantic availability on United: can't book direct flights?

Anywhere from Europe to North America via seats.aero to use some points up. Availability of reward seats has dried up, even within a month. And all routes have a stopover within North America - it's never direct.

Velocity trans-Atlantic availability on United: can't book direct flights?

Good question. Your experience is similar to mine over a number of months recently of looking. Perhaps you can get some kind of official answer.

Velocity Points Programme & flights to USA

We have noticed the same thing for Europe to North America and the UA J rewards seats within the month.

Abu Dhabi Terminal A - Etihad and other lounges

It really is a calm oasis - lucky enough to have been there a few times and I really appreciate how quiet and private it is.

The Virgin Australia Newbie Questions Thread

Welcome! Yes, United is only releasing business class (J class) seats to Virgin Australia/ Velocity within a month of departure. Of course, there is no guarantee they will be released for a flight / date / time that you want. Good luck!

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

I have to chuckle. On my 12 months overseas trip since March and first had the Coles MC change T&Cs to bring in international transaction fees, and now the replacement Latitude card that I applied for to avoid those fees introduce a monthly fee 🤣 I'll keep it for now while still overseas, but...

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

Interesting experience flying Qatar last night using VA partnership benefits. My partner and I flew Y (paid) and she is WP and myself SG. We flew AMM-DOH and then DOH-MAN. Check in at AMM was interminably long. Almost 40 mins in the online check in queue when only 4th in line. Per the...

Tokyo Haneda slot - How will Virgin Operate it? [CNS-HND flights ceased Feb '25]

I think Australia can support the airlines it has, and I agree that VA is much better managed now post administration from an airline perspective (jury out on how it treats its employees!)

SQ Redemption Flight Change - No ticket number?

Hi @jay.fozdar Travelled with no issues, didn't follow up any further prior to the flight, but all was ok!

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Sorry, but which airline is our "premium" long haul international airline? 😝

    Coles Rewards MasterCard devaluation

Another reason to celebrate the impending end of cheques! Time wasting again by a company to give you back your money!

    Rex to launch Melbourne/Adelaide-Perth routes

Transcontinental pricing has been well above odds since Covid, but people are still paying so no wonder the airlines keep charging it

    Rex to launch Melbourne/Adelaide-Perth routes

I, too, was surprised at the underwhelming price at launch.

    Coles Rewards MasterCard devaluation

This is a shocking series of changes. Earn rate being reduced as well. The one that really hurts is adding the 3 per cent international fee. I've been actively using this card since mid-March while overseas on my 12-month trip RTW. Will absolutely be giving this one the flick after 30 June.
