    Upgrading my laptop

There are some tools that can help you update laptops or PCs that fail the default Win 11 checks, normally secure boot or TPM. I can recommend Flyoobe (formerly Flyby11) which is hosted on GitHub. Upgrades to Win11 and helps you to turn off some of the bloat that may slow older machines...

Overview of all the Qatar Airways Lounges in Doha

Seems to be a 787 so can depart from anywhere. The only typical guarantees are narrowbody routes which almost always get a bus gate from the northern pier. In the return, flights to SYD/MEL seem to regularly depart C12/C13 which is also nearer the northern end.

ViaSat VS3 F2 satellite delivered to Florida for launch in late October. ViaSat has now confirmed F2 will be targeted at North and South America (rather than EMEA) and become active in early 2026. Not clear if the degraded F1 will shift to Europe, or ViaSat will supplement with other equipment...

No app, no flight: airline axes paper boarding passes

Of course it's RyanAir. That said this is very un-RyanAir And reality is a barcode is a barcode. Shouldnt matter if it's in an app or on paper. (Don't believe the airline standards allow for rotating or secure/time based bar codes)

Myki Alternative Paywave Full Implementation not until 2028

Also have a decent collection.. Not however happy with Singapore, who have a monthly fee for unused cards now that they not only take out of any balance on the card but also the $5 deposit. Basically making old cards a paperweight. Also had an experience in the Gold Coast that reminded me why...

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

I read PERs description as looking for something different - notably the word "common" - ie. Combining domestic and international departure areas. Possibly check-in, international immigration, back to common departure area, and then maybe a final separate security check to gate lounge (like say...

    Western Sydney Airport (WSI) Discussion

On WSI lounges, notices this snippet in the PER Airport Master Plan (draft) just published. I wonder whether some of the smaller Australian airports (eg. PEE, WSI, ADL, OOL) are pushing this. The big difference in Australia I guess is the differential level of security (particularly liquids)...

Thought QantasLink had 29 220s on order (7 delivered) versus Qantas with 48 321 XLRs (2 delivered, with 16 flagged as a long haul config), (and Jetstar with 12 firm XLRs) though the group holds various options for at least 50+ more 32Xs.

WSJ: Boeing working on 737 MAX replacement

These rumours about a narrowbody or MOM widebody replacement come around every 12 months or so. Remember the Max 7 and Max 10 are still to enter service, and Boeing needs to recover it's investment there as well. Any new Boeing narrowbody is close to a decade away.
