Qantas Promises to Fix Ongoing Reward Flight Ticketing Failures

If it was me I'd persist a bit longer with Twitter. I've been in similar situations of sweating over whether I'd ever get a resolution and - as previously mentioned - they have so far (eventually) come through. Alternatively give the call centre another go. As others have reported, I have on...

Qantas Promises to Fix Ongoing Reward Flight Ticketing Failures

They seem to operate around the clock although obviously the staff change shift. They always end each message with their initials and I found that overnight the agent would change based on their initials.

Qantas Promises to Fix Ongoing Reward Flight Ticketing Failures

That’s consistent with my experience- they will come back to you eventually although posting “Any update?” after a few hours sometimes prompts a quicker response

Qantas Promises to Fix Ongoing Reward Flight Ticketing Failures

It can take several hours to get a response but in my experience once you do - in other words you've got someone's attention - responses can be quite quick ie. almost like a regular chat session. Best thing is the Twitter team are very competent - to the point that I am convinced they are part...

Qantas Promises to Fix Ongoing Reward Flight Ticketing Failures

Wow. I'd stop phoning and just use Twitter - all my OWA issues of late have been resolved via the Twitter channel. It's very slow but effective, text-based communication seems much less error prone, and your conversation history is there.

How to tell if flight changes have been re-ticketed correctly

Either order an eticket receipt from Finnair: https://www.finnair.com/au-en/customer-care-and-contact-information/contact-and-request-forms/order-your-e-ticket-receipt or add your trip to CheckMyTrip (app or website) using your booking reference.

Config. Change - No Business Class - no economy seat selection allowed?

Assuming it's a Qantas flight, try Manage My Booking on rj.com

AA eliminates Saver Awards; seats no longer available for QFF/partner airline redemptions?

You need to click on the "Details" link at the bottom of each flight listing - economy award seats are Booking Code T and business are U. I've found you will usually find these flights on the QFF website - at least until this glitch appeared.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Didn't know that - does that mean telephone agents won't find seats on AA despite them showing on the AA and BA websites? When did this start as I only recently added an AA flight to my OWA that I first found on AA and then on QF?

To be honest that has been my experience - but persistence pays off. There are some overseas agents who are reasonably competent. Best advice if it's not working - HUACA. Or try social media channels.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Two separate issues: 1. Changed the time of an existing flight in a OWA to 1 hour later - initially called to try and do this and was told on a couple of occasions it couldn’t be done (“too many sectors”). The Twitter team initially came back with the same advice but took the initiative to refer...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Lately I’ve used Twitter to request changes. It’s quite apparent that he team handling these messages are very experienced and likely locally based as they’ve managed to achieve all the changes I’ve requested without much trouble. Having said that it’s usually several hours between sending a...

Don’t think they’re trying to double charge me - just calculating taxes and fees for our 11 flights all over again at current rates and seemingly some operator charges have gone up significantly. Anyway I refused to pay the original exorbitant calculation and surprisingly they came back...

They just came back - some hours later. I'd already made it clear that I wouldn't be proceeding if it cost that much - the taxes were more than a full fare ticket so clearly wrong. But their initial responses were the standard "that's what the computer says" No need for a refund as I didn't...

Some interesting developments. Qantas came back via Twitter to advise "it seems that there's been an oversight from our end" They are now calculating the tax difference as AUD156.93 per person - a lot more like it but still more than I get by dummy booking on AA or ITA Matrix.

Are you able to select a seat preference (window/aisle) on CX? I've done this on CX in the past (for non-CX airlines like Iberia and Qatar) and it seems to randomly assign seats according to your selection. If there's 2 travelling they won't be adjacent to each other or even the same row...
