Great location and that is really the only thing it survives on - otherwise middling service and dark rooms. The hotel has had more changes of names than a drug dealer's change of phone numbers ;)

I like the way SQ do it - they don't hand them out unless requested and often will come down the isle with a selection of toothbrushes, moisturisers etc, and ask if you would like any/all of them. The only thing I have ever used is the toothbrush and maybe a pen in the old days for filling out...

I have to admint I am one of the guilty parties for brining on a small suit pack with a couple of shirts on top of a roller and a computer bag (which goes in the seat in front). It fits above all the luggage and doesn't cause any fuss....

Who ever put in fabric seats into the A220 + A321 should be fired. Today my A220 seat base and magazine rack were both deeply stained and the velcro strips coming apart. The 717 fit out was like a private jet compared to this.

Not quite. The current CEO said the airline's resiliance is in part due to dominating the self-retiree market who have the cash to pay for better seats and service and less fickle to the changing economy.

Do NOT stay at the Moxy. The rooms are over-heated, they have no fridge of any kind and really poor water pressure. Stayed there once and vowed never again. I couldn't change the temperature and sweated through an entire night of sleeplessness...

Will give kudos to VA for having a nicer lounge at the Gold Coast Airport than the cupboard that is currently the Qantas Club there. But that is where any points go to Virgin, as the lounge I frequent the most - Sydney - is nothing short of a holding pen for animals.

What so all 24 Qantas Club Lounges and a further 5 Business Lounges are terrible? VA only have 7 Club lounges across their whole network. Give me QF anyday.... At least they have ham for their toasties ;)

Kudos to Qantas for the arrival of full strength drinks in the first lounge. Will get to have my first espresso martini (having been denied several times) in November. It's also finally great to see the investment in new aircraft finally arriving on home turf.... But Brickbats - I still...

This is what you get when private equity runs an airline (yes not any more).... As a Virgin Flyer I can't tell you how disappointing today was. They need to make some investments and today they announced none :(

WTF? The Outback Way is one of he most insane pieces of road infrastructure in Australia. It's 2700 Km's in length and cuts through QLD, NT through to Laverton in WA. They are in the process of spending billions to upgrade it and up until the last few years, was not in great shape.

Aren't you a little smarty pants. Yes I do get that using your phone's signal in the air isn't legal, but neither is driving 70 in a 60 zone, or smoking a joint but... There have been no accidents caused by someone having their phone on - otherwise every passenger would need to hand them over...

Just jumping in. I was on a Dash 8 service from Tassie to Melbourne and whilst the flight didn't have wifi, the plane flew low enough for me to have phone reception almost the entire time (with a few interuptions here and there...)

QF Platinum on Wednesday coming home SYD-MEL and arrived at the lounge 5 hours eary and politely asked for an earlier flight if one was available. The lounge reception lady looked at my ticket and said that she couldn't do anything unless there was a weather or cancellation issue. So just hit...

I love the fact that salted nuts receives its own menu entry... Only on QF. Not having the front bars stocked with water and coke (and an odd bottle of wine/sparkling) is a lazy miss. I hate having to hit the call button every time I want a coke zero.

So for a 9 hour flight in Business QF couldn't stump an entrée? A friend of mine flying out of SFO back to Sydney was hit with this completely underwelming approach to flight catering and decided to construct a three course meal from the menu - starting with the soup, then the vegetarian pasta...
