    Airfares to US to drop?

I wonder where capacity sits vs last year, I assume it’s down. Having a look at loads today and the past few days, Brisbane is a bit weaker compared to the others, Qantas A380 is also a bit lighter in Y on all routes, PE very light. Best performer seems to be United from Melbourne and Sydney...

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

JQ7/8 canceled today. The next three days they are selling seats as per normal so let’s see how that plays out.

    Jetstar Delays/Cancellations

Jetstar VH-VKG appears to have positioned to HKG for engineering which has thrown the schedule out. Heavy checks was advised to start in Jan, so seems unplanned. JQ7/8 is delayed or canceled each day.

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

They might be an aircraft down, JQ7/8 always is first to fall across the network. Was a thread on here last year I recall, I think it went a month or two straight before it left on time. I’ve never flown them on this route since, and even QF has been a bit unreliable with the A330s into...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

No just switched out its own equipment He mentioned the issues the -800s have on BNE-PER taking a payload hit, and Melbourne/Sydney to Bali would be good for testing the economics of the thing for an international run, again, taking over from -800s.

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Comments from the CAPA conference from the Domestic CEO -No firmed up plans yet as to where it will even fly -2nd due this month, next October. -Focus is on the fleet conversion noting many other carriers have stuffed it up. Slow and steady. -wishes the certification process would be faster but...

    Qantas' New A321XLR

Seems excessive. Some US Carriers had new types up within a month and nothing like those numbers.

Virgin Australia Boeing 737 Max 8

Why doesn’t Boeing install the wifi at build? Instead then goes to Florida?

Virgin Australia Boeing 737 Max 8

According to the Prospectus, 6 due this half, and further 6 in the second. The final 6 due in the back half of next year. Then we have a lag of a year until the MAX10 which is late 2027. I somewhat doubt they will covert away anymore -10s as they need to retain a small sub fleet of the higher...

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Jetstar now pulling back Perth to Singapore to 3 weekly, and A320 only. Rather token and going up against the behemoth Scoot who is twice a day, and are back to 787s. I’d say Melbourne to Singapore should just be dropped. Just admit defeat TR are just too big now.

    Koala Airlines Discussion

Leasing costs for new MAX 8 are something stupid like 600k/month at the moment, AUD. These days there is no cheap ‘deals’. Seen large spikes in all other areas be it engineering, ground ops, airport fees, and obviously wages. Fuel is about the only area that has somewhat kept itself at bay...

Virgin Australia orders 8 Embraer E190-E2 jets for delivery from 2025

Hopefully they order more and start popping up on some east coast runs. They are super quiet apparently. I’d say intra QLD they would be of use.

Jetstar launches Various Routes for CNS/CHC/MCY/AKL/DUD/HZL/SYD/OOL

Half expecting VA to drop this route. Low Yield market to Low Yield, then the LCC comes along and adds more seats. I reckon VA should move it to MCY.

Qantas not considering a revenue-based model

They will do whatever the balance sheet requires at any point in time. At the moment, no issues, in the future, who the heck knows. If they need to get creative to pull in more revenue or limit rewards, then they will.

Feedback on the AFF website & brand refresh

I actually think the purple is fine, and the text also. You need to be a bit unique, AFF is a unique site which is why it’s still thriving today. Good job on the upgrade.

Jetstar Asia to shutdown on 31 July 2025

Having a look it seems like the below Jetstar aircraft, which are all the oldest, have finished up within the last week or two. VQC ferries to BNE and parked VQF ferries to China last week. Network conversions have been done here VQJ also ferried to China last week to VQK ferried to Seletar...
