My last QF1 flight from Syd-Lhr flight was delayed in Singapore for 4 hours. The reason was the QF37 flight was delayed out of Melbourne and apparently there was enough connecting passengers to make it worthwhile to hold the SIN-LHR leg. So even if it is delayed, you may still be in luck!

Did you notice any changes to the seat map. With Eurobusiness they will sometimes add or subtract rows to business class, ie go from 4 rows to 2 rows by moving the divider. This may trigger a seat change, but it'd be unusual to drop below 2 rows of business I would've thought.

Latest departure for Heathrow is 2300. Current legislation says that sydney airport will lose the morning shoulder curfew exemption, so no landings before 6am. Will need something to change here to make it work.

This was actually quite a good lounge for a tiny airport (don't set your expectations too high). Lots of light, the outdoor deck with good views of the runway. However in December when its negative outside it was less appealing.
