Didnt know AA have fare codes below discount economy level. I checked the latest AA sale ($1300 or so) ex-SYD and it was at least discount economy (fare class O). Definitely a watchout and keep using the ITA matrix to check the fare codes before booking the flight, especially economy.

Retained Gold today with the 75 status credits but just another reminder of the big jump required to get to Platinum 😅

Applied for this one, will see if this is a good round about way to get IHG Gold Status, which tbh does not mean much (you only feel the benefits at Diamond with the breakfast), but its something I guess. Now to figure out the 80 status credits to extend this by 12 months...

To clarify the GT method still works for applicants who currently dont have a SSN/ITIN. Looks like only Nova Credit was affected. Will consider getting 'Bonvoyed' sometime next year! Adding to what I have with Hilton... although you can argue there is a big overlap as they are the biggest...

Used my Amex AU profile, switched to the US site and did it with GT. Pretty much direct on the site. Would admit that I used the Hilton resort credit twice and the Airline Incidentals 3 times on the Aspire. Maybe thats why. Its okay I guess...

Went for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and I get... the pop up jail for my 3rd GT, and I have been making loads of transactions on the Surpass and Aspire. Could also be the bonus from the retention offer (10k HH). Ah well.

QQ, used the Accor Plus free night earlier this year at the Sofitel Brisbane. Is it supposed to count towards the elite nights or is it not eligible? Was acknowledged by the hotel and got 50% off the breakfast buffet, which was pretty good.

Stayed on the HIX Sunshine Coast and they gave me a surprise Junior suite upgrade as a Club member (just started out with IHG). Free breakfast (albeit its a HIX so limited options) as well. It does look like IHG has decent coverage around Australia even with the Mr and Mrs Smith partnership...

Club Jetstar... preaccess to sales for JQ flights, most valuable when the return for free sale is on for JQi flights (still have to pay $200 more for the max bundle I believe). Could still get it without Club Jetstar but availability is more limited.

Would be quite interested in getting just a taste of the F lounge (2 passes per year), might convince those on PCP to try and push towards WP each year, meaning more flying on QF/Oneworld 😅
