Virgin Australia raises the bar yet again revealing its new Domestic Business Class

Re: Virgin Australia raises the bar yet again revealing its new Domestic Business Cla I know that most contributers to these threads travel in J on every occasion. However as a retiree my days of flying on a company purchased J ticket are a now just a fond memory. But I still want some comfort...

Virgin Australia raises the bar yet again revealing its new Domestic Business Class

Re: Virgin Australia raises the bar yet again revealing its new Domestic Business Cla Personally I find these new J seats quite strange. The seat itself when upright appears rather claustrophobic when it is surrounded by all the built ins and enclosed by the circular bulkhead behind the seat...

Virgin Australia raises the bar yet again revealing its new Domestic Business Class

Re: A330 - XFA/B - Refit? You guys are obviously short on intelligence sources. On another web site VA plans are fully described with lots of photos and lots of good news. Briefly: A new J class seat with built in everything including lay flat will be fitted to the A330 and B777. A new...

ANZ Platinum FF Points being capped??

Check with ANZ and Qantas. I think you might be able to get a black Amex card and you could use this in parallel with your Plat Visa. ANZ sent me the Amex card without any prompting from me, it just arrived with a PIN number in a separate letter (which I changed).

ANZ Platinum FF Points being capped??

Like others I received my letter from ANZ dated 12 September 2014. ANZ Visa - the points earn is 0.5 points for every dollar up to a max of $6k per statement period. ANZ Amex - the points earn is 1.5 points per dollar up to a max of $6k per statement period. There are a number of different...

That's interesting. Did you use any of your BYO on board?

    Why JetStar

The approach to an aircraft at OOL is level from the waiting area, and the stairs get passengers on board. There are no aerobridges at OOL anyway (as in HBA) My comment applies not to the aircraft stairs but to the stairs one must climb to reach the concourse level at BNE in the absence of a...

    Why JetStar

Yes of course. However in HBA the approach to the aircraft is level and the forklift is used to lift the wheelchair up to aircraft door level.

    Why JetStar

There are no lifts out in the satellites, the nearest being at the rear of the main concourse which is quite some distance from where the aircraft is parked. Also there are many people who have difficulties getting up stairs especially lugging an overnight sized bag. Both Qantas and Virgin use...

    Why JetStar

Very recently my wife and I flew Jetstar HBA-BNE, a pleasant flight until we arrived in Brisbane and parked in a stand off bay at the common user satellite. To get from the aircraft into the terminal we had to climb two steep flights of stairs straight up with no lift alternative...

    AirAsia X loses US$40m in 3 months

The comments here about the viability of long established national airlines trying to compete with the Asian cheapies are spot on. I cannot understand Qantas squeezing up their Y seating in the hope of packing in more pax at K Mart prices. As has been observed by earlier contributors there is a...

I didnt think Brunei allowed booze on their flights (Islam rule) anyway $22 is too much to pay for Grants.

Would you fly... Ukraine International Airlines?

What scares me is the fact that things like air to air missles can be procured by militant groups almost anywhere . Airports and airlines have done such a good job at preventing terrorist attacks from on board but now who needs to get on board? I fear that copy cat attacks may well follow...

    Why fly Jetstar?

Its all to do with the pitch. JQ have 31 inches which is an inch less that most other airlines. OK the exit row is nice but only if you are a young agile person. The FA's frown at anyone over about 60. My wife has hearing aids so the exit row is out for her and I have seen glasses wearers shown...

    Why fly Jetstar?

We recently flew Honolulu to Sydney in Jetstar business class and the seats, meals and service were all as you say. Very enjoyable for a ten hour all daylight flight.

SQ to offer PE from next year

In my experience PE seats are simply not worth the extra spend. Why pay $5-6k for PE on a QF flight to LHR when many Asian airlines will sell you J for that price or less. True, PE seats are in a separate cabin but you still get Y food and although the seats are a little wider and the pitch is...
