Have you ever experienced St Elmos fire? Is it very common?

At the times I have travelled on a B777 especially near the back I have been conscious a twisting and shuddering of the fuselage at takeoff. What happens is that the pilot lines up at the biginning of the runway and immediately sets the taps wide open, there is no easing of the aircraft away...

I read in a well respected aviation magazine that the 737 has a tendancy to pitch up when full power is applied to the engines during level flight. The effect can apparently be quite severe resulting in a quite a steep angle unless compensated by flight control. Can you comment on this please?

Just to change the subject a little I want to know about how you use the APO in flight. Is the APO left running during a flight? Should the APO be required in an emergency eg main engines not delivering sufficient electric power how long does it take to fire up the APO and is it capable of...

Hi all I have to apologise for the total stuff up by me with the above pictures. I have yet to learn to insert pictures so that they line up one under the other. I cant get them to move in edit even using the alignment drop down.
