Don't forget that if you're booking flights, Webjet has a "servicing fee" - Domestic $21.95, NZ/Pacific $24.95, International $32.95, and a "booking price guarantee" - "Domestic $12.95, NZ/Pacific $14.95, International $21.95"
Just used the MyCar offer. My service was $300. I asked if there was anyway they could increase it to $350 (there didn't appear to be any retail items available for sale).
The mechanic looked surprised, and said "sure - I'll bump up the labour so it comes to $350 exactly".
Effectively a $30...
Agree with this 100%. You don't recognise the value of a short call wait time until you need to speak with someone ASAP. As a VA Gold, I've never had to wait more than 3 - 5 minutes, The on-shore call centre team have gone the extra mile from time to time to help me out.
Now, if only they...
I ended up buying multiple cards, and called up to use them on the phone. Bookings have to be made through Virgin Australia holidays - and the phone lines are only open Monday - Saturday (business hours).
I'd go to FOS. IMO they've had enough time to contact you. You're only going to get the run around otherwise. At least with FOS it will be directed to someone empowered with resolving it ASAP.
Any flight on a US carrier where they hock credit card applications over the P.A.
One particularly awful announcement in this regard ~18 months ago, flying AA LGA-ORD in F. Attendant spent at least five minutes going through ALL the details and putting the hard sell on, in order to get her...
I've mentioned it in another thread, but from my experience priority boarding in PER is often a shambles (being non-policing of the priority queue altogether - they let he general group start congregating in the priority queue, and then it becomes too hard to police).
Platinum Edge holder with an Explorer linking to Ascent.
I called Amex earlier in the week regarding the changes. I was told by the offshore Rep that my points would be protected (i.e. doubled) upon the changeover in April.
Got my letter on Friday, with no reference to my points doubling...
I was on a VA flight MEL-PER last week (7 November) that had last minute re-accommodated TT passengers from a cancelled PER-MEL flight. The Captain came on the PA apologising that we were only catered for the VA pax, and the TT pax would not be getting a complimentary meal, but could purchase...
Flying out of Perth recently I've found priority boarding to be a mess on multiple occasions for the A330 services. The priority line turned into the general line. Pointed it out to the gate agent who told me there was nothing she could do.
If I know I'm being fed BS, then I immediately inform them that "I'd like to escalate this call to your supervisor, please". Almost always resolves the issue, with the hope that the rep in question will get a bit of extra training.
I'll put my referral link out there for my favourite card. The $400 travel credit immediately offsets the $395 annual fee. I have also made good use of the smartphone screen insurance (I have used it 4 times in 2.5 years, thanks to my clumsiness). Apple charge $419 to replace my IphoneX...
Is it true that commercial pilots sometimes utilise the oxygen masks to perk themselves up (I heard it somewhere once)? If they do, does the use get monitored, and how do they replenish the supply?
I've been in a similar situation, but with less points. Bank said there was nothing else they could do. Lodged a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service. The issue was escalated to the resolutions team, who worked with the airline (Virgin) to sort it out.
