We flew from London to Frankfurt about 18 months ago on BA. Waited almost 2 hours for the luggage to appear.
The people with airtags could see the bags were in the terminal but we assumed no one would move the bags onto the belt ..
Except for lost luggage that is by far the longest we have ever...
I was looking at an article on the 777x and the photos to me show the engine as very close to the ground.
I hope I am using the right terms but will the roll of the plane and/or the compression of the landing gear be an issue when landing with striking the runway or how is that risk mitigated...
Hi JB . In Singapore, recently a Qantas a380 had hydraulic issues and had to return. When taxiing, some tyres failed. Can you help me understand the link that caused the tyres to fail

I agree too. I have a few friends who have to regularly fly to London and New York and it is all about minimising the travel time.
They express interest in the non stop flight as it is one less place for things to go wrong.
I have had similar issues with booking sites that you think are onshore but are offshore. For example i use to use wotif but they removed the abn number and gst. So could not use for work.
Like others I try and go direct to the hotel. A lot of time is spent on Google maps when going on...
Hi Pilots. There are so many urban myths about the temperature in the hold where the bags are stored.
My question is it will my bottle of wine in my main luggage be slightly chilled or could it get frozen?
Or more seriously what is the real story with the temperature in the baggage hold?
JB with the QF 32 incident we you flying the a380s at the time ? What I was wondering was how did they keep the pilots current and did it result in any changes for the pilots when flying again after the grounding?
It is an old pencil case that is soft and bright pink with a big and small pocket. We put passports and stuff like that in it. The reason it is good is that in a backpack or on a desk it is easy to spot.
It also fits easy into a seat pocket when you have to do immigration forms.
We got it in...
JB with QF 32 in Singapore accident I understand one of the engines took a long time to shut down .
Do you know if any changes were made to the systems to avoid the same problem in the future?
Hi JB. With QF 30 did you have any issues the engines as a result of the explosion that would have tested your sim training experience.
Also on BA 009 in 1982 with the 4 engine flameout how difficult would the plane be to fly with engines coming online and then off-line?
Not an airport and I am not sure if it true but the story is about Dallas airport and the taxiway layout.
The taxiways with the identifer Y or better know as Yankee is the most northly taxiway and it was called that as the Yankee's always come from the north.
China Airlines is normally good value and the hard product on the a350 is good. The food and soft product is a bit hit and miss.
The flights are overnight from and to Australia and the flight arrives at 5am on the way up. That is the only real drawback.
Tawain is a nice stopover with really...
Our work policy is to use a knock-o-meter or gentle persuader a few times on the key parts when disposing of IT components.Using a hammer is good therapy when you realise you wasted money 😀
JB when VH OJA was retired to Wollongong I understand that the plane had minimum fuel levels. I was wondering when doing short flights like this or flights like Melbourne to Avalon do the normal fuel rules apply for diversion airports ?
Just to go back to the JAL part I think that JAL will have a spare 777 when the A350 is put on the New York run. The spare aircraft is doing the Sydney run.
I was wondering does the weight of the wing ( being full of fuel) make any difference to the lifting capacity of the wing?
Does the fuel in a wing dampen the twisting of the wing?
Is there a preference for the distribution of the fuel in wing as you are using up the fuel beyond balancing the...
Mine is right down the back. Two hopes.
The first the flight is not full so the middle seat is empty
Second they let you off the back door
The first works most of the time and the second works in Sydney and Brisbane but not Melbourne for me😀
