Wow, it really worked. Waited ~1hr or so and the fee magically vanished. Brings down the current price to 932BRL for SYD-SIN or around 450$. The good old days are back :-D

Expedia will send you an email. Also, in the past, I entered the QFF number in Expedia while booking and the booking shows up immediately in Qantas "My bookings" page.

re: Avianca "Life Miles" - New FF program in *A Add it during check-in maybe, for less possibility of getting screwed up. I think some airlines allows adding ff number online (e.g. SQ) although flying J and getting no miles I don't find it useful to me.
