Qantas Hong Kong - Missing iPad

As of iOS 13 Apple devices can use Bluetooth to talk to other nearby Apple devices which eventually results in the owner being able to locate the device. There's info on the Apple site.

    That was quick (points/sc)

When the new system was introduced not that long ago, I had a flight credit while I was in the lounge. It's definitely much faster than it used to be.

    Targeted QF Double Status Credit Offer. Book 28 Oct - 4 Nov 19. Fly 5 Nov 19 - 22 Oct 20

I just got an offer, as a resident overseas, for DSC on flights from my country of residence to Australia. Pretty similar dates, but in my local timezone.

    Qantas 'preferred seating'

Preferred seats are free for Gold and above, so that doesn't seem so bad?

QF No Longer Printing FF Number on Boarding Passes

The FF number is still in the barcode (at least, I presume it's still there), which is easily decoded if you have a photo of it. It also has the PNR....which is more problematic.

    Crediting Cathay to QFF

If a booking class isn't listed in the table for an airline, then it doesn't earn anything.

    Qantas 'My Platinum News'

I haven't received it. I have an address outside Australia listed...anyone else in this situation? I've wondered whether I'm likely to miss out on other promos and should just change the address back to one in Australia.

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

I wouldn't take much notice of SeatGuru. It typically has no idea what layout is being used anyway, and given no passengers have been on this layout, they wouldn't have much useful to say. There are plenty of cabin configurations I've been on recently on airlines that don't show up there.

No need to buy more than 1.

    Crediting Cathay to QFF

For anyone thinking of using status and then crediting to a different program when flying CX - flew a couple of flights last week that were in non-earning classes for QFF. Kept my QFF WP number in there when boarding, until about 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time, as the last...

    HKG Transit Ideas

That's easily enough time to head into the city for a meal. If you landed by 17:20, you could probably expect to reach Kowloon or Hong Kong station by about 18:30, depending on how quickly you walk (the other day I landed at 20:45, was at Hong Kong station at 21:45, after spending 10 minutes...

Double Status Credit - No double SC on domestic leg?

Has anyone tried one of these offers with the domestic leg of QF9/QF10?

Which debit card is best overseas?

Decided to check the rates HSBC offer for currency conversion and compare to the Visa daily rate. HSBC: Visa: Funnily enough, the 2nd one should be the rate you'll get if you don't have any USD in your account when doing a USD transaction with this account. Just to be clear, this shows...

Which debit card is best overseas?

Another good option is the HSBC Everyday Global Account. No fees for normal use, and you can store 10 different currencies in there which will be used if you have enough of a currency in there for a given transaction/withdrawal. That said, unless you have a way to transfer into it in different...

Which debit card is best overseas?

You can even just transfer money out to another bank, then immediately transfer it back in. Also, self-serve checkouts at supermarkets are a great way to break a purchase up into a number of smaller transactions of an amount of your choosing.... Agreed that if you can satisfy the ING criteria...

BA Pilots strike impacting on Qantas award booking - advice please

I flew Iberia Express (I2, who are a Oneworld Affiliate) on LYS-MAD and after making a missing points claim, received points and status credits with QFF. They actually gave me the wrong booking class, so I got an extra 5SC. I was actually told I couldn't use the lounge, and didn't bother trying...

Be Aware! Qantas double points Trap ["Discount Economy is 'not' Economy"]

Hang on...so there was never an issue with discount economy? You'd actually booked a flight outside the relevant period, but the call centre gave you an incorrect reason as to why you had (correctly) not received the extra points? To be fair, it's unacceptable that call centre staff give out...

    Transiting at BNE

Don't forget you have to make your TRS claim at least 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. If they do the form in the box method presumably this doesn't apply, but filling out the form does take extra time.

    Helsinki (HEL) Stopover Tips

Was just in Helsinki this last weekend, so thought I'd share a few bits and pieces. Arriving into HEL in the afternoon, there was a fairly lengthy queue at immigration, which I haven't experienced before. I must have waited at least 20 minutes. As usual, the questioning is far more rigorous...

    Helsinki (HEL) Stopover Tips

Have you considered staying at the Hilton at the airport? It's a relatively short walk once you leave the terminal. I've stayed at F6, but that's a little bit of a walk from the station, so can't comment on those you've mentioned. You'll have access to the standard non-schengen Finnair lounge...
