Purchasing or hiring ski boots in Nozawa Onsen

While getting them on mountain is a good idea, Japan does lack decent boot fitting, esp in English and in smaller resorts.

Purchasing or hiring ski boots in Nozawa Onsen

I would agree with this 100%. Get own boots in Aus, and get fitted well. Kanda has a million shops but they all sell almost the exact same stuff, too. There’s more variety here with our 4-6 shop brands.

Buying a cheap ski home in Japan

It’s crazy. That was measured in person, ordered, made up, shipped, installed and cleaned up. I assume it’s not gas filled but for what I need it’s a great price. Was the highest spec they did.

Buying a cheap ski home in Japan

In honesty, no time. I wish I had a knack for languages but I’m terrible with them.

    Gifting baggage allowance

This is the extra car in drive to the airport, the 3 others had to take a seperate car 😂😂

    Gifting baggage allowance

The airlines work on the theory that frequent flyers rarely travel with their full allowance. In fact most rarely bother to check anything at all. It costs them nothing but is a great perk for you. Anything to facilitate being used would cost them, in fuel at least if not lost revenue...

Complimentary credit card travel insurances - Any adequate ones?

Better to read the pds than rely on Chinese whispers.

Buying a cheap ski home in Japan

May as well update this thread. So we’ve spent (between my brother, and parents, who went 1/3rds) about 16 weeks there since purchase in Jan 2024. We’ve cleaned the place up and done a few tip trips to clear out the older stuff (it was left fully furnished, all in great nick). We’ve installed...

Vietnam - Insurance cover for being a pillion passenger

Why would you want a random comment rather than just reading the simple to read pds?

What's the funniest PNR you have had?

I've had a few but I sent a "HATEIT" to the client and just prefaced with "this is system generated". I use sabre so more room for funny stuff as it's 6 letters only.

Best Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance in the new COVID World?

The answer is "it depends". need to read the pds and try the screening process.

    ANA Perth-Tokyo flight - now year-round

I'll say that their economy fares are a sale compared to usual pricing but a real business sale from Perth is rarer than rocking horse poo.

    ANA Perth-Tokyo flight - now year-round

This flight is now daily for the summer/northern winter and cherry blossoms. A “sale” has just come out, the first business sale all year. Prices are higher than the non sale business fare I booked in Jan 😂

    Amex platinum business

Business platinum is held in personal name anyway so I suspect you’ll be fine claiming whatever you want. It’s much harder for cards that are actually held by the business, which would need more documentation.

Indonesia's Bali considering increasing Tourism tax levy to deter 'low-class foreign tourists'

I’ve been twice this year and never managed to find it. I’d be happy to pay but can’t easily figure out how.

Qantas PER-SIN schedule change 26 Oct

We have a Jetstar flight too, don’t we? It keeps coming and going I can’t keep track. But it’s a bit “200 channels and nothing but cats” with the timings. My most ideal is QF up and Scoot back on the midday-ish service of each. Next is is SQ at 0640 and 0930 back. After that it’s all pretty...

Qantas PER-SIN schedule change 26 Oct

I like the earlier departure, this is perfect for kids and to get the weekend started. But the trip home is the reason (outside of cost) that I never book QF on this route. Too late for the kids. 2-3 hours earlier would be the dream.

Japan overtakes the USA for fourth spot in favored destinations for Aussies

I think while true it’s entering the mainstream. A large portion of my clients ( which self select for incomes on the high end) are now enquiring about Vietnam, and the various intercontinentals are routinely 500-800USD a night.

Travel Agents that understand the SC game

I think in this era, for flights, most do not need a ta. They are there mainly to book flights that you can’t (I have a family of 8 people, 4a4c, who want the kids to fly up with some and back with others- just can’t be done online) or people who are happy to pay for the service and have someone...
