QFF Bonus Status Credits/Points gift on back of Aug 2023 profit

Yes. Attempted to grab a screen shot, but fat-fingered that. Now get a message saying that I'm ineligible for the offer.

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

Yeah, more than a decade ago. I declared a (roughly) $3,500 to $4,000 recommended retail Seiko Astron GPS watch (I can't recall exactly as it was that long ago) that I picked up new (uncompleted lay-by) for about $2,200 on the way out the country for a 10-day trip. I was warned on the way out...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

Actually adult children travelling with husband and wife do count as a family group - and can extend it. When I (54) travelled with my wife and my parents (79, 88), and we (myself and my mum) put in two separate claims on the way out, the person at the desk said "you could have just put in one...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

Declare. Pool. You'll be asked. Explain. Walk through. If you're claiming, your passport is flagged. If you don't declare, you risk getting asked. If you do declare, you are all good.

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

I just got my statement (for the period to 21 July) today (25th July). Still no notice in the statement, the covering email, or Netbank notices. My next statement won't arrive until the 25th of August. Very odd. I can't imagine that they're not going to raise my threshold, but they're very...

Thanks. No email yet for me. Will report back when I get my statement if it is mentioned in the statement or email notification.

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

I still haven't heard anything. My statement is due tomorrow, so I'm guessing it will be on tomorrow's statement, but if not, they're leaving it very late...

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

I've been wary of relying on credit card insurance for exactly this reason in the past. I've always taken out a good (but inexpensive) travel insurance policy. Often that has been an annual policy when that has made sense, especially when I've then been able to rely on credit card insurances...

Coles Mastercard Cash Instalment Plan Flybuys Bonus Points Offer - when do points post?

Thanks. I've taken it up for 6 months for the minimum amount to get the points. No go for my KrisFlyer top up, but still worthwhile, and an 5x return on actual costs if used for discounts off Coles shops or for Velocity points. I've recently reduced my credit limit on this card from $30,000...

Coles Mastercard Cash Instalment Plan Flybuys Bonus Points Offer - when do points post?

I'll look into Virgin Wines - good idea. I'm just tempted to do the cash installment plan anyway - worst case scenario is that I have either the flybuys points as cash off (worth $125 for $45 fee), or velocity points - probably also worth around $125 for 12,500 points, so bit of a no-lose scenario.

Coles Mastercard Cash Instalment Plan Flybuys Bonus Points Offer - when do points post?

Has anyone taken up this offer? If so, how quickly do the flybuys points post? I'm short 6,500 KrisFlyer points for 2 x J return to LHR, and although it is terribly wasteful to transfer Flybuys to Velocity to Krisflyer, if I take up this offer, it will cost me $45 for 25,000 flybuys points =...

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

Having been spoiled by J for business, I now have to fly it for personal travel. I find it fascinating that little things can be so significant - I have only flown SAS once, and found that odd (no lounge access), but didn't think anything more about it at the time. But I do recall at the time...

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

Interesting - I know everyone's different (cue the shout from the crowd - "I'm not") but I've just closed my Platinum Amex because I just could no longer justify the fee vs the value of points differential - even with the dramatically better SQ points conversion rate. The annual fee would have...

Credit Card Offers CommBank Ultimate Awards Card: 100K award points – potentially fee free

I have used it, and rate it! I had delayed (7 days) baggage and flights (2 days extra delays). My paid travel insurance covered some of my costs. The CBA insurance covered other costs and was substantially better in many cases (covered lost costs on non-refundable accommodation that the paid...

What are your hotel room habits or idiosyncrasies?

Pretty much this. Check for noise - get a new room if unacceptable. Check for light that will make sleeping a problem. Check for temperature - and if it looks like it can't be fixed, get a new room pronto. Check for exits. Check safe works (a pain if you can't lock stuff up later on and...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

I came back in a week ago (see New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?) and ticked yes to Q3 on the IPC (as well as yes to the wilderness / farms question - I'd been in both). They were pretty keen on the biosecurity issue with foot and mouth. I was asked about Q3 at the final gate - I...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

I made two TRS claims on the way out a couple of weeks ago - both over $900: $1600 and $905. Family of four: Myself and my wife (50s) and my parents (80s). I made one claim ($1600), my mother the other ($905). I was asked if I was re-importing and I said yes, but I was going to combine limits...

New TRS rules? Goods no longer included in cap?

Replying to this really quite late - but I'm checking this out as I'm about to fly OS. Here's the yet another answer from ABF: Personal goods The following personal goods are free from duty and tax personal clothing and footwear (excluding fur apparel) articles for personal hygiene and...

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

Seems like a no-brainer then if you've saved it but not used it! I had a $495 slap up dinner for $46.50 by stacking this with the Mid Week Melbourne 30% rebate deal. 30% of $495 is $148.50 rebate, and $300 back from Amex meant I was out of pocket $46.50.

No, but it did take ages for my in restaurant credit to come through. Are you worried you haven't earned the credit, or checking first? I thought the T&Cs were dine in or order from their online delivery / pick up services?
