    What cheeses me off

A small pebble in a tyre valve is appropriate. Two tyres if the smile/shrug had mayo on it.

    Penfolds Re-corking Clinics

Terrific! Ta for that. It does sound cool and now am really looking forward to it. Though 60ml is not what I'd thought a "very small amount" (as per the website) would be. I imagined pipettes and microscopes and litmus tests for some reason. 🤣

China - Tibet Autonomous Region and a bit of Japan on the way home

Looking forward to following along @Matt_01 :) I see you've booked a tour but is it still the case that guided tours are required for travel outside of Lhasa?

    Penfolds Re-corking Clinics

Turns out mine is a 91 (that I bought for $180 in 1996). And the ullage appears to be in the "re-cork recommended" zone so I'll register for an event, prolly in BNE so my Dad can come. Does anyone taste the wine as part of the re-corking process?

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

I haven't tried it either but a quick search of posts here suggests it's worth a spin. I like the Albert too so that sealed it.

It's also a bit reminiscent of an underage Happy Dude topping up the vodka in my parents liquor cabinet with water. 🤣

Depends on the ullage? :) The blending of the wines does raise a few questions too....

    Penfolds Re-corking Clinics

According to the Penfolds website, "Some collectors investing via the secondary market prefer to purchase a re-corked bottle as the condition has been certified, therefore minimising risk." So that could raise it's value.

    Penfolds Re-corking Clinics

I have a 96 that has a leaky cork. I'll look at attending one of the next round of clinics in October. What do they do if it's not corked but just spoiled or past good drinking (most likely due to poor storage in my case). Send you on your way with the bad news?

VA562 misses Sydney curfew but lines up for approach anyway

You'll be required to submit a noise assessment (demonstrating how noise will be ameliorated) as part of the DA process if the land is within an overlay of some sort (varies from state to state) or is within certain noise exposure 'contours'. It will also be evident during the purchase process...

    Lufthansa strikes again!!

OP seems to go direct to the Australian Lufthansa GM who settles out of court. That avenue just raises more questions of course.

    Lufthansa strikes again!!

What a world. A successful outcome for the OP will form precedent in similar future lawsuits brought by tiktokers because the hostie looked at them sideways or weren't pretty enough.

    Air BnB Discussion

We love them for short term house rentals in coastal areas that have limited hotel options which often also don't allow dogs. Using a kennel for a sneaky long long weekend is not only costly but impractical due to the kennel drop off/pick up rules. There is a lot wrong with the system now...
