Centurion Card Holders - I have some questions

Hey all I received my Centurion invite recently and considering taking it up. Can you share some examples of things you’ve asked concierge to do / buy you and how did it go? Any other reason why you would recommend going from PC to Centurion? thanks

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Can you use this account to transfer $250 per month between BoA and TW accounts to save on monthly fees?

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

Also silly question but what stops you from opening an account with Bofa and another with Citi and just transferring the same $250 between them to avoid the fees? And will this speed up your credit history?

    Strategy to obtain US Amex

So going over the last few posts it appears the best combo is: - Amex GT for the card you want - Set up US bank account and transfer money from Aus to the local account to pay off the card Is this right? Am I missing anything? I'll be in the US in April and will look at setting up a Bofa...

    RewardPay Alternatives

If the flight is 200,000 Etihad points and each point costs you 1.3c post tax then your cost will be $2,600 (I think you didn’t take into account the points earned on the fee)

    RewardPay Alternatives

Post tax your cost per point is about 1.3c based on 1.47% after tax. How many points is the flight you are referring to?

    RewardPay Alternatives

I thought Amex don’t like it if you put your card in “positive” balance?

    RewardPay Alternatives

Your table is misaligned - Visa / MC is 1.55, Amex is 2.2% Very expensive!

So, about this "wider acceptance" thing...

I stopped shopping at JB HiFi for this reason. Was going to buy a $3,000 laptop but once they added the surcharge I figured I am better off just buying it direct from Apple. Since then I always found retailers that don't charge extra for Amex and now I rarely pay the surcharge

So, about this "wider acceptance" thing...

I never had any retailer that was downright hostile based on the credit card I used, you should shop elsewhere if this the attitude you get from shop assistants

Hi If you don't use the free night, does it expire or do they accumulate? Thanks!

is JNB-PEK-SIN considered backtracking by SQ?

Agree with the above. Air China J is nice but nothing to get too excited over. The lounge in PEK is terrible. You can always book it using two awards if you really want to try it

Best ways to give our QFF balance a shot in the arm using AMEX?

Buy wine! Qantas wine club often has deals where you can get varying amount of points if you buy 12 pack of wine, fro memory i've seen 30k bonus points which works out pretty good deal (depending of course if you want the wine and how much it costs)

Only worth it now if they start accepting Amex..

Amex Centurion Card eligibility in Australia

The calculation for me whether the Centurion is worth it or not is simple. I don’t really care about the benefits and the things that interest me the most are the points (currently hold PC). The Cent will give me 0.0125 more FF points per dollar. So on incrementally spending another $3,550...

Has anyone used EBP to pay subcontractor invoices?

How is not a terrible result for users? Fees up 62%? I put through about $1m a year, which will now cost me another $5k, most of my suppliers will gladly accept credit card for less than 1.3%
