Are the days of Points collecting over?

I have never been able to relate to this. You go on a family holiday but split up for 24-36 hours each way just so you can sit in a business class seat for a few hours. I would have thought the logistics, additional hotel costs and time wasted would negate the benefits. Not to mention you miss...

Are the days of Points collecting over?

I sense that all of the devaluations don't really matter to those who enjoy doing this as a hobby. They probably enjoy the extra challenges that it brings.

Are the days of Points collecting over?

To secure business class rewards seats to Europe it takes time and effort to churn credit cards and chase points during promos. It takes even more time and effort to research reward seats and find a workable itinerary. After booking you still continuously check availability in case something...

KLIA - is a 2hr transit between MH and SG doable?

MH484 from MLE has a history of being on time so you might be ok. Edit: actually if you land at the satellite terminal you still have to catch the train which eats up your precious one hour to make it by the check in deadline.

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

Yeah it filters out the OzBargain type folk who only sign up during the half price membership offers for the sole purpose of using the free night at a premium hotel.

    Woolworths gift card thread

To save 14 minutes of your time: - Simon got his money back - TCN has now put a Captcha on the webpage which previously allowed you to hack PIN numbers - Simon thinks gift cards are a Ponzi scheme, as in they keep running points promos just to keep the cash coming in.

Qantas Travel Insurance - so uncompetitive

I can't say that I associate anything with a Qantas brand on it as being price competitive.

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

My guess is that your bonus nights are due to automatically appear on 1 Oct being the first day of your membership year. The customer service team are unable to manually credit the nights so they came up with an excuse about Accor China. I don't know why they didn't just use the excuse that your...

    AFF Point Valuations

The real world value of 1 Citi point is 0.5 cents. My Premier card converts 1 Citi point to 1 Flybuys point which is 0.5 cents of groceries. It's close enough to cash. Points can be converted to cashback but the rate is bad. Of course you can get a better hypothetical conversion rate by...

Article: Why Airports Reveal Gate Numbers at the Last Minute

I don't think it works that well for Jetstar passengers at MEL T4 because everyone knows where the Jetstar gates are and that there is a very long walk ahead so one shouldn't leave it too late to get there.

    ALL Accor+ Explorer Membership Discussion

I hope you are right. It will be easy for them to say that since you have been upgraded to Accor+ Explorer then the new rules now apply to you. Edit: The lack of formal communications addressing this issue is interesting. Is it an an oversight, is it because they do in fact intend to apply the...

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

I think the time has come for me to abandon the dream of a lifetime of ham & cheese toasties prior to boarding overpriced flights. Let's see how much money I save by being a free agent.

New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

Exclusion towards lifetime status - I didn't see this one coming. It's an effective way of changing the goalposts without changing the goalposts.

    JQ 18 MEL-SYD

From my experience if you have the tax invoice I believe that anything under $200 is automatically approved. If you go above that then it needs to go to a supervisor. I got the cash within a few days.
