    Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Hi I got a letter saying to send payslip and bank statement. It does not tell me to get ID checked at woolworths. I sent the documents today, and tomorrow I will go overseas for 3 months. So I am worried they will ask me to do the ID check after I have gone. I have never had an Hsbc...

Taking Aus duty free bought alcohol through HK airport

Hi, I want to buy a bottle of absinthe from sydney duty free to Taipei. I'm transiting through Hong Kong. I don't believe Hong Kong sells absinthe. Will it be possible to take it through security? I checked the Hong Kong airport website and it said it may be possible if it's from a...

    Everyday Rewards Qantas Credit Card

Very interesting. Any chance that you can scan and upload the brochure? If it is really 1 QFF point uncapped for each dollar spent it is the best Visa/Mastercard card in Australia. The only other one that offers this is the Citibank Signature card with a $700 annual fee.

Difficulties booking CX Award flights through Qantas

As QFF website usually doesn't show CX award flights, I usually check Asia miles website first to find appropriate awards and then call Qantas to book. The last two times I have successfully done this on both occassions I needed to call Qantas two or three times to do it as the first person I...

One World Credit Card with lots of points and interest free?

Personal cards usually have better rewards program than business cards so if your business is a 1 or 2 director business maybe it is easier to get a personal card and use it for Business. If you really want a Business card, maybe consider Citibank Business card. If you want a personal card...

    Downgrading from Platinum Card

Before I had a CBA Plat card and I downgraded it to the standard card. Note you can pay $0 annual fee for the Low Fee card which I believe is the same as the standard card. 1. After I transferred, I received a pro-rata refund of the Platinum annual fee. 2. I was told that the points would go...

Hi, yes Citibank work in the same way. I used to regularly exceed my citibank credit limit for short periods sometimes and never got charged an overlimit fee. it would allow transactions over the credit limit by around $5k. after about $5k, future transactions would be declined. later on they...

Beware When you apply Bankwest Transaction account

If you apply for one of the no monthly account fee transaction accounts at Bankwest, they will do a credit check on you. They justify this by giving you a $100 overdraft facility on the account. Also you can tick the box to apply for a credit card at the same time, and the one credit check can...

Australian Customs Officials Will Search Your Laptop For cough

I would be interested to hear from someone who refuses to dilvude or enter a password to their computer when asked. Many business people have confidential business information on their computer and have security such as whole disk encryption or similar. If your computer is taken away by...

Australian Customs Officials Will Search Your Laptop For cough

Yes, I believe that the founding fathers of our constitution as well as many of those who served in the world wars would be quite upset that the freedoms they created and/or fought for are being lost.

    The Bangkok situation

A couple of my thai friends that I spoke to who live in Australia tend to agree with you. They say that they don't like the red shirts, but they hate the yellow shirts even more. I think the biggest problem is that the country is so divided with opinion between people of different socio...

Qantas aims for eight million frequent flyers

I think the two staff don't have their own cards anyway, so if I don't get the points, no one will. But I did question whether or not is was worth the extra effort.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Qantas charge a flat credit card fee. So does Internode for Amex. Flat credit card charges benefit high spenders and don't benefit low spenders.

    Jail history haunts Hanson

I think she ticked the wrong box. The article states: "They have a card that asks if you’ve had a criminal conviction of more than 12 months.." She ticked Yes. If the card says "had" then she did tick the gramatically correct box. If the card says "have" then she ticked the wrong box...

Qantas aims for eight million frequent flyers

For people less close to you. Or for convenience. eg. I signed up two different memberships to have two cards for staff to use when they buy work purchases from Woolworths & **** Smith . Which is around $500-$1000 per week. I wouldn't wan't to sign up memberships in their names as they may...

Qantas aims for eight million frequent flyers

Also now that joining is free, I guess there would be many "fake" or "duplicate" accounts. eg. Sign up an extra card under a fake name and give the card to wife/husband/child/father/mother/partner/receptionist to use when they buy at Woolworths/****/Big W and then transfer the points when they...

    insure4less Annual Travel Insurance - from $191

This is a good point. Double checking the insure4less policy, the maximum stay per trip is 31 days which is much less than 60/90 days of most other policies.
