    One case is with an infant, you only pay taxes on VA but have to add 10% of the adult cash fare on SQ (can particularly hurt for one-way bookings).

    This is still a problem btw, in Chrome on my pc. I couldn't be bothered to phone to make the booking, but was able to move the slider one notch and that brought out the credit card section for only a small waste of points.

    It's been able to detect status for a long time, as evidenced by differences in seat availability between status levels. But yes hopefully the seat charges do not materialise...

    It is true for the shortest legs on cheapest fares, now that they only earn 5 SCs on VA. That's 100 flights to reach gold or 80 to retain, vs 70 or 60 flights on QF. Considering this includes SYD to MEL or BNE, that's a lot of people affected by the lower earn rate.
