I mean the very fact that you were able to change not just the date but the routing for only $110, with no change fee, seems like proof to me that your original fare was a Flex. Sale fares from Canada have a change fee of $500 per person.

Finnair operate the flight between HEL and SIN, they're not likely to sell you a codeshare on a flight they operate themselves. The only way would be to book through Qantas.

I bought it at the same age (although it was early 2000s). Then I got gold about 3-4 years later and have never been lower than that since. Now have lifetime gold. So for me, rather than foresight, life membership was a complete waste of money :oops:

I think QF are taking a risk here. If their Contract of Carriage winds up being ruled unenforceable by the Federal Court it's going to open up a much bigger can of worms for them.

It makes sense they would go high initially on a new route to try to establish what people are willing to pay for a non-stop flight. I imagine there'll be sale fares eventually.

Yes it's a toss-up which is worse, at least LHR has better OW lounges.
