Qantas cabin refresh for 42 Boeing 737s from 2027

They really should do this, 12 J seats hasn't been enough for years.

    Qantas flight cancellation, costs incurred

Unfortunately QF won't accept responsibility for "consequential losses" like your extra hire car fee. You could investigate whether travel insurance would cover the extra cost. If Australia had something like EU.261 your compensation payment for the cancelled flight would probably cover it!

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

It took 27 minutes today to board a full 738 flight, which makes me wonder what the point of the new system was. Doesn't seem to have sped things up at all.

    Bequeathing Qantas Points

Only risk I can think of would be if the account you transfer to has no recent activity, it could cause the points to evaporate on arrival. Presumably the official transfer method prevents this risk (or you'd hope it would, anyway).

    Bequeathing Qantas Points

Yes from memory this was their first big post-Joyce change as a demonstration of their committment to improving their reputation and conditions for their frequent flyers. It was swiftly followed by... er... and... also... um.... Well anyway, this was their first big post-Joyce change!

Cash Upgrading to Business on DSC reference no.: is it worthwhile?

Makes it sound like you could achieve P1 by upgrading your flights with points. As is usual with "AI" the answer "seems" plausible but is actually wrong/useless.

    Hobart Qantas lounge

It's a small room with a few chairs (if you can find one), a coffee machine and a few bottles of wine. As long as your expectations aren't for more than that, go for it.

Frequent flyers whose kids have hit gold status

You can get gold easily enough from a single holiday to Europe in J, I'm sure there'd be lots of kids who picked up gold at the same time as their parents that way.

Qantas surveying members about spend-based status attainment

Qantas will surely go the same way sooner or later. Fortunately Qantas fares are so high that it will probably make earning status easier!

    Direct flight SC calculation

The only way you'd get SCs for each leg is if the flight number changed (or you had a >24hr stopover).

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

    Qantas Business cancellation fee

I'd be surprised if that works given gift cards are not usually redeemable for cash.
