Adding 2 passports in APIS? Dual AU/US citizen flying EU->USA->Australia

Last time when checking in to leave Australia, QF asked me do you also have an Australian passport. I said yes, then they asked to see it. The agent then made a phone call to Border Force to “report” that I had 2 passports and “link” them in the system? I’ve not had this happen anywhere else...

Velocity introduces Forever Gold lifetime status tier

Any idea where to see what you’ve earned since then. Doubt I’m anywhere close, but curious.

Major changes to Velocity Frequent Flyer announced 17/10/24

I just hope this doesn’t give Qantas any ideas for spend based status credits and 50% requirement!

Adding 2 passports in APIS? Dual AU/US citizen flying EU->USA->Australia

Thankyou that sounds simple enough, just do it the old fashion way (before online check ins existed!). My main concern is trouble at MAD about the connecting flight to Australia. But it sounds like they’ll just not give me the 2nd boarding pass and tell me to get it in DFW at one of the...

Adding 2 passports in APIS? Dual AU/US citizen flying EU->USA->Australia

I'm a dual US & Australian citizen, currently living in Spain. I've got an upcoming flight on 1 PNR which is MAD-DFW-MEL (it was cheaper than flying via Asia or the Middle East) I can only enter 1 passport into the booking APIS. If I add my US passport details, it expects an ETA on my US...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

The new "Choice" plans don't provide you with that choice. It's $5/day or no roaming. The app says to turn off roaming you'll need to turn on Airplane Mode before you leave Australia and keep it that way until you return. It is also a direct debit, they take the $5 straight out of your bank...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

Are you paying with direct debit? I got told they are first moving all the people who paid their bill manually, because the new plans do not have that option and are direct debit only (so the change also forces everyone on to direct debit auto payments).

    eSims, what is your experience.

If you need to receive calls (or send texts), you'll need to pay extra for roaming. The Optus plans with this included in your monthly plan were the best option but they are being removed from the market. $5 per day is good for short trips, infrequent travel, or people who will need to use...

New amaysim roaming plans April 2023

I asked via the in-app chat. The agent said no and then tried to sell me a different plan. If you try to signup on the website it prevents you from continuing if you select existing Optus postpaid customer and keeping your number. I think you could easily port to prepaid and then port back in...

New amaysim roaming plans April 2023

Pretty good deal for people like me who don't really use a lot of data while travelling overseas. 5GB would easily cover unless I went somewhere that had no wifi. I actually tried to change my Optus plan to their $79 month plan with 5GB/month roaming data and they refused (new customers only)...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

I contacted Optus chat to ask if I could switch to that $79 Qantas plan instead of them moving me to the $49 Optus Choice Plan. Thought that would be easy - I'm offering to pay $30 more each month! They said no, and also tried to suggest that people on this Qantas plan are being moved to "Optus...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

Restricted to new services only, you need to get a new number if you're already with Optus!!! Do you think they'd make an exception for us because this is now the closest new plan they offer to the plan they're kicking us off? Though I'm honestly wanting to leave Optus forever now, and will...

    eSims, what is your experience.

Why would I continue to pay Optus $50 a month for something I don't need or use. I don't need 2 Aussie numbers or plans. Optus is $50 per month, which I still pay while I'm overseas and not using it. Until now it included roaming, but from May they want +$5 per day for what's been included at...

    eSims, what is your experience.

Thanks very much for this, I hadn't heard of Felix before but it seems to fit exactly what I'm looking for. I'll probably just port my number over to them instead of getting a bunch of travel eSIMs!

    eSims, what is your experience.

Any recommendations for longer-term multi-country roaming eSIM for someone who travels overseas several times a year, sometimes for up to 6 weeks at a time, spending 90+ days out of the country each year? Or can I have multiple eSIMs and swap which one is being used as I travel between...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

Almost! My bill randomly changed to $42.50 about a year ago with no explanation, but I never bothered asking Optus about it. Hope they're not downgrading my plan because of the discount? I'd happily pay more to stay on it - even $80 a month would still work out better than the new plan they're...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

4 May for mine as well. The email I got is quite insulting, pretending it's an upgrade, thanking me for my loyalty, and saying this new plan I'm being forced on to is better value than the current one I'm on, which is obviously completely untrue. Then in small print down the bottom it says...

Optus new $50 SIM only with roaming

Looks like it's gone now. Optus emailed me today to say they're changing my plan to remove all included roaming data, starting in May. Looking for alternatives ASAP, I fly to the US/Canada for month in about 2 weeks.

Optus and QFF - Phone Plans

Also got the email from Optus saying they're forcing me onto a new plan without any roaming data included. And of course they're doing it right in the middle of my upcoming US trip. Any suggestions of where to go now for plans with included roaming?
