Sounds like the system doesn't like OLCI on same day return tickets to AKL. The counter usually opens at 0230 in AKL.

Did you go landside or manage to do it via transit only?

If you can get the return BP issued, you can transit. They weren't doing this recently due to DPD/Vax checks, but that's all been dropped so hopefully they issue both ways. I'll be testing this out again next weekend.
