Working in health care, BUPA are probably one of the worst funds to look after their customers. Excellent marketing and great for returns to their share holders but terrible to their customers. I would encourage everyone to run away from them.

IMHO, accept your partner's decision and go with it. Should it go pear shaped, well then you can always say 'I told you so' or after the event if a similar impasse occurs you can say 'remember the time I suggested QF but you insisted on JQ?' Either way, if you end up recoverying in hosital...
