You contact the actual Qantas page through FB Messenger. It starts with a bot, but you can click a "Talk to a person" or similar button. It is slow (ie. they can take 6-12 hours to respond), but definitely works.

I think @Fausaken is referring to bonus points QF is/was giving out for taking out your first QFF credit card, in addition to any bonus points which may have been received from the bank. I still don't know the answer, but it is a slightly different situation to the normal 'wait for all points...

Yep, I did mine on FJ flights booked through QF.

QF did this to a bunch of flights last year when they changed the MCT for Syd and (I think) all flights through there had to be re-validated. Could it be something like that?

Pretty sure there was a J seat or two showing on SFO-SYD last week around 2-4 July, but appears to be gone now. Can still get 4 July on FJ via NAN for the same price if that floats your boat/plane.
